I was inspired by some posts on Pinterest recently and wanted to create my own portable GM box that I can bring with me for a quick game. It's more for things that require less setup like Fate and Everyone is John, but you could still bring the basics for other games as well (including Star Wars FFG)!

So I was recently on Pinterest and I was inspired to create a small portable GM/Player box to hold my stuff. I wanted it to be multifunctional so I brainstormed and came up with this!

It starts out as a wooden box from the craft store. I stained it inside and out, and got some square wooden dowels to act as spacers.

I then added some thin craft foam to the bottom of one side with spray adhesive, then added a textured felt to the top of that to act as a dice tray.

The other side was done with spray adhesive and a whiteboard sheet, and a neodymium magnet near the top too hold an magnetic cap dry erase marker.

Once you add the spacer you can put all sorts of things you could use during a game session. I added some dice, a miniature astromech, some writing utensils, Post-It notes, and some cards with enemy stats on them.

I have a piece of foam I cut out that fits flush inside the box to keep everything stable as I carry it around.

Looks great! A nice, simple, all-in-one solution. As I transition from paper to electronic character sheets, I'll probably have less need for my storage clipboard, and more use for something like this.

My gaming buddy's bro blagged some free or cheap, very well made laptop 'briefcases' I can get the core rules and two splat books in plenty of pen/pencil holders, pockets for dice, post it notes etc..I can also fit in a small Douwe Egberts jar with all my dice in.. A4 & A5 pads etc.. just keep your eyes peeled when out shopping.,, before that I'd use a Morrison's Reusable Shopping Bag

As a GM you need to look topnotch,,, shopping bags just don't cut it
