Brand new to Campaign

By The Law, in Imperial Assault Campaign

I have a few questions in regards to starting out. I've only played skirmish competatively, and I'm looking to start a new campaign with the wife starting with the core set first.

I have all the expansions, as well as all the waves of ally/villian miniatures.

Here are my questions..

  • Can I use the agenda cards that come with the expansions in place of some that came in the core set when starting out?
  • Can i replace the Green cards that came in the core set with some that came in other expansions/ally packs as long as the time period is correct?
  • Same thing with the grey cards you add? ^^
  • Can I have the rebels use other heroes that came in the other box expansions or strictly use the core set heros for the core campaign?
  • With the reward cards that came in the allypacks, do you add them to the core set rewards deck?
  • Same with the item cards? ^^

I think that should be it..

Thank you!

I've just started my first campaign so not sure this qualify as a reliable answer.

Yes you can bring in the other things. Everything. When setting up you the campaign you choose which green/grey/heroes/agenda and so on. Nothing says you can't bring in things from other sets.

I only own the core and the Ally/Villains from wave 1 but have put an order on Hired guns and ISB infiltrators and will bring them in although we've already started the first campaign. As far as I know that is allowed (can't use the agenda sets that come with them now but if I had had them from the start of the campaign I could have.)

Yes, you should be fine putting everything together for the campaign. The only concern is if it might be overwhelming for newer players.

The only thing I would address directly is in your second bullet point: FFG seems to have abandoned time periods in favor of fun. Hence, no one in wave 7 having time periods on their cards. So how you handle that is up to you.

Right, at this point there really isn't anything stopping you from mixing and matching stuff from every expansion. Obviously Story Mission cards can't cross campaigns, but everything else should.

As far as time periods go, they only ever existed anyway as a way to make campaigns mesh a little better with canon. Ultimately, I appreciate giving the players that choice. So, for instance, if you want to play a very "canon friendly" version of Heart of the Empire when it comes out, perhaps have your heroes try to earn Ahsoka, Obi Wan, or Hera rather than Jedi Luke. Otherwise, if that doesn't bother you, more power to ya.
