Looking for advice on LMC80 Leia build

By Kaashifar, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Ok so my goals were:

1. Activations

2. Fast, nimble, flexible

3. Keep the MC80 alive!

My questions:

1. Would it be better to remove the Pelta and add a transport and stronger fighters? OR...

2. Should I remove a HH, and turn them to scout versions? Keep the Pelta and add transport, Blount and more Zs...

Faction: Rebel Alliance

- Shields to Maximum! ( 6 points)
= 70 total ship cost

1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
3 A-Wing Squadrons ( 33 points)

The MCLiberty is the same as yours except I dropped Spinals for DTT. Cut it back to two HH and added a Comms Net GR-75. Switched the TFOrgana to TFAntilles to give you more survivability and added Ord Expts to keep your re-rolls. Switched the variants on the Pelta. Swapped EF for STM to maximize your repair rate and Hondo for Ahsoka so you can pass any token from the GR-75 and change it to an engineering to trigger STM. Dropped the Zs for Shara and 3 A-Wings.

I like it. Any list with Shara Bae is a good list ;)

My only concern with that list is losing a HH in favor of a transport, without really doing anything to help preserve the total damage output of the list (-1 HH... and no additional squads to add damage). Pelta might be better at keeping the MC80 alive, so maybe that's something in itself.

Yeah it sacrifices some of its ship to ship power for a boost to your anti-squad and some upgrades. While it didn't increase your squadron numbers those A-Wings will kill squads much more effectively than Z-95s and their black dice against ships can come in handy. A lot of list building just comes down to personal preference combined with what you feel comfortable using. I've found Z-95s to be excellent in large numbers but die to a stiff breeze in small quantities. You could always swap the 4 Zs for 2 As and 1 Z for 29pts. Costs you a deployment but stands a better chance of killing some things. That being said if you have hot red dice Zs may be for you. A friend of mine consistently makes them hit for 4 against my squads whereas I roll 3 reds get 3 blanks re-roll 1 into an accuracy. Oh red dice, why do you hate me so much?

totally agreed on Zs vs As. I wish I had 2 more Zs , possibly one of them being Blount. And no I have *** reds too haha

Here we go. Integrated some fixes on the LMC80, changed pelta to the cheap kind with ER, and the GR75 can now push the 4 squads and provide cover afterwards with jamming field.

Jamming field cuts into counter, that is why I don't like it with a's.

But that could go back to personal preference. I'd suggest testing to make sure you don't hurt yourself more than your opponent.

If you dropped Jamming Field you'd have the points for Toryn Farr. I think you'd get more use out of her on the GR-75 than you will Jamming Fields. Don't forget JFs obstruct your attacks too not just your opponent's. Flight Controller supported Interceptors with Howlrunner are still going to be throwing 5 blues at you with Swarm rerolls while your counters get reduced to 1 and 2 in Shara's case. Torynn's re-rolls will vastly improve the damage output of your A's and boost any ships within distance 3.

Only cause you were so much more thorough :) but yes, you hit the nail on the head in regards to jamming with a wings. Jamming with xwings and biggs is awesome. Toyn 100% for a wings.

Nice! Very sound advice, thank you! Making the change now
