A little speculation never hurt anyone so - what do you think will dominate the Gencon Tournament and why is it 28 copies of Dispatch Runner with a 4pt initiative bid?

On a serious note - heroes or no heroes? MSU Cav? Large Worm blocks?

I suspect Archers will be involved.

Hawthorne and inspiration will win the day. Elves won't be there yet or it would be Leonx winning the day.

Deathstars and deathstar-counters. Hawthorne and Maro. Blight vomit everywhere. Lots of exhausted and tired Dispatchers doing all that running...

Deathstars have been abounding in the mothership meta. I plan to collect some data from this weekend tho afraid the turnout might be light. Summer casualties will be high.

I predict some 3x2 Carrion Lancer groups w/ Combat Ingenuity triggering Master Crafted on the cheap to do really well.

The more and more I read, the more I think that I'm woefully unprepared for the tournament. I keep changing my list around and doubting myself and reading about stuff that I need to account for. I'm ready to just say "screw it" and go out there and have some fun.

Who else here is playing in the Friday tournament?

I have noticed in the Battle reports that I have seen big units from the Daqan & Waiqar alike, Oathsworn for Daqan and Lancers and reanimates for Waiqar. so more of the same I would say.

While I don't disagree with the sentiment that Leonx are fantastic and versatile, I feel like they're a high-skill unit so I'd be very surprised if a week's worth (had they come out last week, for instance) of experience led them to dominate and win. It's going to take a lot of learning to field them to their potential.

Sounded good to me at first, but yeah - how do you get your unengaged block to hit the enemy? I think I'd rather have Dispatch Runner on both of them so that no matter which one hits, it gets two attacks each round. If it starts to get taken down, shift back, and turning charge with the other so you can hit twice with your strong unit.

But that's not relevant to the question at hand, because I do not think that will be the GenCon meta. At all.
