Yesterday I played with a dude that needed his weekly plastic crack. 600 kmts away from his house and he packed 3 T 70s in a mini bag to play after a day at the beach.

After some talk (casual play... Do you play cinematic... Ok) he suggested a homebrew variant.

Each Player can deploy a number of Tokens equal to the number of his ships plus 1. Alternate deploying them on the map after Asteroids placement. When deploying your ships not within R1 of your side. You deploy touching one Token. Only one ship per token.

And man quite interesting. Better with few or no 360 or turrets. No bombs. Hot Zone since Turn 1 because you can deploy one inch away from the enemy. Deployment is critical.

Very funny, quite mad.

Reminds me of a scenario I made a while back; the only deployment restriction is that you have to deploy at beyond range 1 of enemy ships. makes for nasty, quick battles, and an interesting little listbuilding and deployment metagame
