So you are unsafe now? Due to your blasphemous magics? We can help you with that.

Of course we are not unsafe. Our magic is no more blasphemous than the Lion who speak to the dead, or the Dragon who speak to the voices in their head.

Debating the pros/cons of going MLP on my unicorn deck.

Pros: Thematically appropriate.

Cons: The MLP sleeves peel something fierce. My poor Unicorn cops deck from the CCG is a pain to shuffle with all the raised corners.

That's actually a seriously sad con...had the same problem with old L5R sleeves.

The question is whether the voices in the Dragons heads actually answer back.

Yokuni says they do.

That's what happens when you let a mental patient run your clan.

FFG has had a policy for LCGs that they will possibly maintain here, that sleeves must be opaque in Organized Play. Which makes their extreme attention to beauty in card backing quite silly, IMHO, given that they have only rarely offered sleeves that mirror the backs.

Does this policy only apply to single-sided cards, or double-sided as well? Would it be acceptable to use clear sleeves for the Role cards, for instance?

Isn't the Phoenix the one with voices in the head? I thought that Dragon was more about using blood to make tattooes?

Well, since the Role cards should be treated as single-sided in play (one will never get flipped), they should probably stay in opaque sleeves so no-one changes their role.

I don't know that it matters. While technically they might require it, I think your choice of role in an official tourney will have to be documented to begin with, so it shouldn't matter if it is sleeved.

I think Dragon does both of those.

The Phoenix does 'Rule by Committee' Which is nearly as bad.

I'd actually suggest looking into the multiple possible outer sleeves that are out there if you're going for something illustrated. I know KMC and Broccoli have different versions of "Character Guard" sleeves to help prevent splitting and make the illustrations last longer (parsonally I'd go with the KMC but that's just my preference). Honestly the only reason I'm not planning on going full double sleeve is the cost to replace cards here will likely never get up in to the tens or hundreds of dollars.

While I approve of the Derby, that is not a Unicorn.

I mean if we're getting technical, neither of these characters exist in the L5R universe. It's not all that different from the Code Geass sleeves I used in my first Kotei.

Neither do we use "ponies".

I'd go with:

https://www.amazon.com/Legion-Art-Sleeves-Unicorn-Count/dp/B00B1US5AA

Altough I could not resist this: https://www.amazon.com/Protectors-Supplies-Printed-Sleeves-2-Packs/dp/B00IU7EH6S/ Beware of the incoming Toraneko Clan! Nyan!

Neither would I dare to say no to this: http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/241108

Unfortunately, I'll have to stick to boring old monocolor Dragonshield stuff.:(

I had to grab the Lotus sleeves (or was it the box?) as soon as I saw the design. I'm sure they were going for Ashes, but it's solidly within the Rokugan mythology as well.

Just by-the by, the best sleeves that there are currently must be Tsukune's.

Well, yes. But Derby is a Pegasus, not a unicorn.

Go with Black and Green if you want traditional, otherwise there are clan colours:

  • Crab - (Dark) Blue / Grey
  • Crane - (Light) Blue / White
  • Dragon - Green / Yellow
  • Lion - Tawny / Yellow
  • Phoenix - Red / Yellow
  • Scorpion - Black / Red
  • Unicorn - Purple / White or Yellow

Would love to do that :D but when the cards are not in a deck i plan on storing them double sleeved in binders. and combining clans or borrowing cards from other clans is gonna be a hassle then. but i LOVE the idea (in fact i tried this with A Game of Thrones LCG) but ran into the same issue multi house decks...

Personally I like red/orange for Phoenix, with yellow for the provinces

Double sleeved... IN BINDERS. That's... ****, friend, that's pretty effin' protected. No kill like overkill.

If he doesn't store the binder in a fireproof safe, I'll be disappointed.
