The first causality was Howlrunner. Killed by poor defense rolls and crits.

2nd causality was Wedge Antillies. Poor defense rolls and damage from assault missiles.

Captain Jonus made an error and had his maneuver end in the middle of the GR-75.the move was intended to go 4 straight but end going 3 straight. Killed him but added a damage to the GR-75.

the rest of the ships died either to poor rolling. 4 crits against 3 blanks is hard to deal with.

when it came down to the final straw. the GR-75 hit two asteroids, and each card pulled was the deal another damage. got hit with another crit from a ship which was the same thing. so it had 7 hull.

the Raider go destroy due to asteroids. Huge ships have a hard time trying to navigate asteroids. when it finally cleared the template was barely on the asteroids which killed it. the player had a hard time getting to it due to mara jade throwing out stress and assaults missiles being flung, and dodging other snubfighters.

Near the Final Round.

Ten Numb had 4 critical's against him.

Critical 1 Major Hull Breach - Starting the round after you receive this card, all damage cards dealt to you are dealt face up. ACTION. Flip this card face down. Failed all rolls.

Critical 2 Weapons Failure - when attacking roll 1 fewer attack die. Action roll 1 attack die. hit/crit result flip this card face down. failed this one and prior.

Critical 3 Console Fire - At the start of each Combat Phase, roll 1 attack die, on a hit result suffer 1 damage. action flip this card face down. (Received as Scourges last attack before Outrider killed him). Failed Previous rolls.

Critical 4 Major Explosion - Roll 1 attack die one a hit result, suffer one critical damage. Was dealt to him by Mauler.

Final Round. Mauler Mithel has 2 Damage cards.

Outrider had 4 damage cards.

Ten Numb is smoking. (4 crits)

Outrider makes an error. instead of doing a sharp 1 turn to avoid the GR-75. it goes right into it's path. ten Numb Moves. GR-75 7/8 hull damage. moves on. Overlaps the Outrider. Killing Dash. and causing 2 damage to the Transport.

Mauler Mithel moves.

Ten Numb Moves

Critical 2 - Fails.

Critical 3 - Pass.

Critical 4 - Fail.

Empire wins by a hair.

But sounds like a good game! Any epic game where you're left with a single damaged TIE fighter surrounded by the smoking wreckage of two fleets sounds like it was fun....

  • 3 hits - critical or not - should have killed Ten Numb
  • If you collide with a huge ship (rather than the other way around) it doesn't damage it, but doesn't kill you outright either:

  • Yeah...nearly half the damage cards on the front of the GR-75 are Direct Hit! cards and face-up cards are easy to get from obstacles and collisions - that's why Extended Cargo Hold (which lets you take damage from the rear damage deck, which doesn't have any Direct Hit! cards) is often worth spending a point on.....Captain Needa is not a bad choice for 2 points for similar reasons.

Great stuff! Gotta love close games.

Personally, I love putting both Rear-Admiral Chiraneu and Engine Thrusters on the Raider. When you have some open space you can funnel someone into and your opponent does not straight-up rams his own ship into you, the amount of ground you can cover with these two "boosts" is seldomly anticipated. Get something to keep up your energy level and equip all Quads, that Raider is stupidly fast and fun.

My wife surprised me with the Imperial Raider Expansion Pack for my anniversary present. Yes, I have the best wife in the universe!

I haven't played with it yet, but my twin 10-year-old boys want to put together a rebel fleet to destroy it. This gives me some great tips for building the Raider squad. Can't way to play!
