Has Anyone Had Success with the Tie Aggressor Yet?

Just wondering how others are doing with this ship? I have tried Double Edge in a swarm with Deadeye, Rockets, Sync turret, LWF. It worked ok, but not great.

I have also tried it at a TLT platform, but it just gets singled and killed.

What success stories have people had with this ship? Any?

Won a SC with it, great flanker and bait. DOUBLE EDGE, LW, LWF, TLT and just learn range control. Opened my SFs up for the pincer.

I've played with it a couple of time and so far the named pilots are hot steaming poop, complete with circling flies... at least with the loadout I used (Synched Turrets). Haven't tried the generics but I imagine they're ok with TLT.

Since their release my win % has never been higher. 4x TLT Aggressors is better than Thug Life IMO. More durable and more maneuverable. The barrel roll makes a huge difference.

They've been great. I see no reason to ever use anything other than TLT on them though. And if they seem too "fragile" when you take them as a TLT, you might just be flying them a little too... aggressively...

Kestal Ruthlessness TLT LWF :)

I've been running something resembling the following the last few weeks to moderate success:

PILOTS

Sienar Specialist (20) x 2
TIE Aggressor (17), XX-23 S-thread Tracers (1), Autoblaster Turret (2), Guidance Chips (0)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (21) x 2
TIE Bomber (16), Extra Munitions (2), Cruise Missiles (3), Guidance Chips (0)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (18)
TIE Bomber (16), Unguided Rockets (2)

It's got a decent low-ps alpha strike coupled with 28 total hit points at 2 agility. Without the aggressors, there'd probably be 2 bombers with cruise and tracers in the same spot. I don't know which is better - the bombers improve the alpha potential and are tankier, but the aggressors have more long-term utility and their slightly better dial actually makes it a lot easier to land the tracers, which is important. Also, that 1 shield has prevented enough crits so far for me to think that maybe they don't give up any survivability for that lost hp.

Yeah, the initial approach is the most critical moment, especially when playing 4 of them. You really dont want to end up at range 1. I usually do a lot of circling around and asteroid dancing before i engage. I always try to have debris between my opponent and me. Contrary to what FFG said in the preview article, i have much more success when i keep them in formation for as long as possible.

Thanks. Perhaps I'm just getting to close then, but even at range the Wookie ships and Rey can just kill them. I will have to try them again, but I tried circling around the board. I even tried using the Generic with TLT and always barrel rolling to stay at range 3, but they just appear to die, even with LWF.

The two local store champs here were each won by 4x TIE/aggressor + TLT + LWF

Palp on the carrier of your choice (try kylo upsilon + targeting synchronizer+FCS)

Now add Lt. Kestal. (I prefer Adaptability + synched turret)

+ Pocket Ace of your choice.

A little Janky, but Kestal can take lots of focuses and use the upsilons TL for the synched turret. Palp helps Kestal push through lots of crits. Its been a fun list to fly for me.

One day, I want to try her with support:

Tomax Bren (24)
Cool Hand (1)
Fleet Officer (3)
Systems Officer (2)
Lightweight Frame (2)
TIE Shuttle (0)

Total: 32


And an ace of choice, for 35-40 points. I think the key, is that she needs a focus token for her ability, and another one for her defense, then she isn't so flimsy with LWF.

I just started flying double edge with this loadout as well and its great for a flanker. 29pts and he earns it.

Well that could be success how damage did it deal before dying?

Not much, it did die fast as it got chased and focused down with builds that will tear it apart (Nym, AC autoblaster turret). It was able to get two of its attacks in and was able to deal damage each turn it was alive save for the 1st round. But it died fast and the VT-49 carried the rest of the way.

This is pretty much what happened to me in my games. I think one time it did 3 points of damage when I used it as a TLT. It did do 5 points of damage when I used it in the swarm.

think the main issue they have right now is A) Imp players are not used to using a turret, so they dont manage the range properly and B) its the whole "KILL THE TLT USER" mentality, even if its not even the real threat people gun straight for it.

So far only use ive gotten out of it is abusing the latter, people gun straight for it and Backdraft/Vader/QD/Ryad/whatever my other 2 ships that are ACTUALLY a threat just walk all over people. Havnt even had a game yet to see how she fares when shes not considered the deadliest target and gets to run around all she wants.

Well it is a turret but it is the most Imperial of turret ships ever and that is it has good offensive capabilities but nothing really on the defensive. Okay maybe not a glass cannon, but more like a crystal cannon if that clears things up.

All the upgrades the 2x<missile> and the <turret> slot are offensive upgrades. For defensive it isn't as fast as other TIEs, it has 2 agility and only goes up to speed 4 so it doesn't have a way to get out of trouble. So Offensive capabilities for TIE Aggressor are good, defensive capabilities are not so good, it makes it the perfect target to go for first.

Still waiting to get one and run my double defenders and TLT generic list.

In my head it seems amazing, at least.

We'll know once it hits the play area.

FYI Ruthlessness does not proc after both TLT shots. Its an "after attack" effect so as per the PTAT rules in the faq thats after the 2nd TLT. Granted, its highly unlikely it wont proc at all since only one of the two attacks need to hit.

(Saying that because literally everyone i have seen try Ruthlessness on a TLT user thinks it works on both hits. That would be broken)

2 of them with ruthlessness and a well built echo really kick ***.

If....you didn't realise that ruthlessness only procs after both tlt shots.
