Does Jyn Odan need line of sight to the space that she is using to preform Trick Shot?

By BubbaHyde, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Last night my players and I had a somewhat heated debate over Jyn's "Trick Shot" ability. The card says "you can draw line of sight from any space within three spaces". My question is weather or not she needs to have LOS to that space, that is within 3 spaces? Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No

Ricope is correct, but to elaborate a little bit it would specify that you need LOS. There are a few abilities and items in the game that state "Within X spaces and in your line of sight."

Right. So essentially all you have to do is pick a spot within three spaces. Then, you use that spot to draw LOS, as normal. That's why it's called "Trick Shot"- you could pick a spot behind a wall, so it's like you're ricocheting the bolt off of a wall.

Note that the required accuracy is still determined from Jyn to the target space. (And it does not need to go through any special path, just the shortest distance between Jyn and the target space.)

Depends on what you mean by "behind a wall", because walls (as well as doors and blocking terrain spaces and blocking terrain edges) block counting spaces.

(Maybe "around a corner" would be a better choice of words.)

Yeah, that's what I meant. I know that you can't ricochet through a wall... well, at least not in this game. :P

Ok thanks guys.
