Entitlement: Tantive IV

By Darth Meanie, in X-Wing

So, trying to both build a useful ship, but keep the theme of Tantive IV (yes, that means Leia must an auto-include):

TANTIVE IV

Too many upgrades for me, not enough pew pew. I'd go:

TANTIVE IV
128 points

CR90 Corvette (Fore) (68)
Tantive IV, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Single Turbolasers

CR90 (Aft) (60)
Single Turbolasers, Weapons Engineer, Sensor Team, Automated Protocols

3 powerful, range 3-5 shots, ability to Target Lock out to that range and modify either blanks or focuses. Ideally I'd switch Leia out for a way to boost energy - Tibanna or Engineering team. Or SPC.

I began to think of it as a "consulor's ship" and tried to get crew/team synergies.

Date night?

Yeah, a romantic moonlit cruise, watch the stars twinkle in the night sky, shoot some Imperial dogs, sounds perfect.

@FTS Gecko has the right idea here. If you're taking the Tantive or a Raider and not filling at least 2 out of the 3 hardpoint slots, you're just plain doing it wrong.

Personally, I prefer Optimized Generators to shore up your energy generation. Automated Protocols is not really needed on a ship that already gets two actions per round anyway.

Thanks. I was really hoping for a good solid kick in the teeth.

People ***** about people *******, so I'm trying to be a little creative.

Then where is the ambassador?

Played with Leia crew in Epci game last weekend. She work amazing with BTL TLT Y-Wings and it might be the only time she is worth her cost for the sheer amount of guns you can bring back to bear after the K.

Run the Tantive nasty. And boy, is this build NASTY for 122 points. The Bodhi/Weapon Engineer is what makes this work. Instead of spending 4 points for Sensor Team, you get two locks almost anywhere on the board for the same cost.

IG-RMs are NOT limited either to faction or total crew. Crits for days, indeed. Run the Tantive right in the middle of the board, so you can peel it off towards the bulk of your enemy fleet wherever they setup. Target Lock and reinforce the front. Run it right at them. Run your fleet behind the Tantive and pick off the ones that scatter or stay at range 3 to avoid the clusters missiles (a nice extra dice defense benefit for your fleet.) Leia when needed to keep formation or to stay on high priority targets. This will buy your Tantive time for the turnaround when you reinforce the back, all the while turret primary and recovery.

They have basically two options... run away and get routed, or attack the Tantive, leaving your escorts free and undamaged. When the Tantive drops, you should have reasonably nuked at least 1/3rd of their fleet. And if your other ships are still all on the table (especially high hull BTL Y wings) it will be an uphill battle for the enemy indeed. The only thing that gives this trouble is countless low PS swarm ordinance (which would give any list trouble in epic, which is why ordinance rules) and if you fear that then just switch the homings for assaults.

Enjoy epic! It has redefined my love for X-Wing!

I think you should switch Breach Specialist with Toryn Farr. That way you can use Toryn Farr action on the aft section, then Automated Protocols to get your Reinforce/Recover. The way it is now, You can't Target Lock and Toryn Farr on the same round. It also balances out the value of the two sections a little better.
