The choice is obvious. The horse on the left keeps a much lower profile, making you less of a target. We already know there's some deadly archers out there, just waiting to assassinate ala cutscene anyone who stands out. Plus, I understand they have a habit of biting, very useful in combat.

What you don't realize is that the Moto Horde ARE the horses, they just have human dolls with swords attached item. Its a weapon because there is a sword attached. Its a very curved strategy.
Every year the Moto give 2 of their human-doll-with-swords-attached breeding stock to the Emperor as a symbol of their loyalty. They make great firewood during winter court.
