Let's talk about fleet deployment.
Great article! I've always had problems with deployment, definitely some good pointers in there!
Looking forward to this. I've needed a better approach to deployment.
This is great! I'm awful at planning deployment (specifically my stupid *** falling into the exact thinking-trap you used as an example with the ISD) so I'm definitely gonna read through this a few more times whenever I'm getting ready for game night to keep the thoughts fresh!
Thanks for this article. This is the hardest part of the game for me. I always deploy poorly and struggle later.
I've been on a vacation from Armada for most of wave 6, so I love that you're updating past articles with new builds and comments based on the new upgrades.
One thing you might want to do though is make it more clear where the edits are. Not that I mind rereading excellent articles about VSDs and Raiders, but if in the future you do more extensive edits / additions it might be good to call out where they are.

That's fair. There's going to be a lot more updating in the future as we get everything caught up to wave 6, given we otherwise are running out of other subjects, haha.
It does mean that updates have been less frequent, but we still get in 1-2 articles a week.
@geek19
is also doing marathon training so he's running a lot in his off time.

Gross.
I should come out to the grove one of these Thursdays.

It's his... I believe third Chicago Marathon this time around. He and my wife both ran the marathon two years back but she's been busy/pregnant in the subsequent two years so no go for her. He does pretty well and sometimes he doesn't even barf during the last few miles!
Seriously, though,
the first dude who ran a marathon died
because of it so I would take vomiting if that's the worst that happens. It just kind of wrecks your body.

Yeah, come on out! We've got a good bunch of dudes (and the occasional lady or two!) and we're always happy to take in more folks.

This year's goal does involve not vomiting. Fun side story COMPLETELY unrelated to vomiting. Did you guys know they have photographers EVERYWHERE on the race course? I mention this for no specific reason, of course.

I never understood how people heard this fact and went 'Oh, let's turn it into a sport we voluntarily do!'

I totally understand why
individual
people do it - it's basically one of the most difficult things you can physically do and requires a lot of training (it's basically a part time job of just... running), so completing it is very rewarding. In that regard it can be considered like any other workout regimen that has some kind of competition at the end, like a bodybuilding/weightlifting contest or a swim meet or whatnot.
Why a bunch of Greeks trying to get the Olympics to be a thing again over a century ago decided it would be a good idea to have people try that again I couldn't say.

Oh, it was instituted then? Hmmm. . . . maybe national pride?
