Hey Sol Sixxa

By Browncoat50, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Thinking about a big bomber scum team:

Sol Sixxa: VI, Bomlet Generator, TLT, Havoc, FCS and R4-B11; 43

Emon Azzameen: Mangler Cannon, Cad Bane, Proximity Mine x2, cluster mine, Countermeasures and inertial dampeners; 56

Total 100

Also, sorry if I got a bad song stuck in anyone's head. And yes, I thought of the team name before building

So, on Emon, you'd need EM, I'd go with cad, slave, em, and 2 clusters. That would give you 4 bombs, plus cads reroll.

Also, it's a good song, assuming it is Soul Sister, not some other song.

It is soul sister. And yeah, EM is a must, but I don't own a copy, so I try and build around it. If I can borrow or proxy that changes things for sure

I tried something like this recently but didn't have much luck with it - see

I like the squad name, and yes you got the song stuck in my head.

I found flying against Firesprays that I can pretty easily avoid their arc, especially with a fat turret.

If carrying lots of action bombs (this is the Andrasta title, yes?), then try dumping off countermeasures and inertial dampeners for Experimental Interface and Burnout SLAM respectively.

No points cost impact, but it means you can

  1. Focus (or evade) and then drop mines.
  2. Give Miranda Bloody Doni a taste of her own medecine - Do a speed 3 bank or turn, trigger burnout SLAM for another speed 3 bank or turn, trigger experimental interface to lob a row of cluster mines out with a speed 3 turn and then use Cad Bane to make the unlucky victim reroll anything that's not a damage result whilst they're still trying to figure out how a firespray just teleported itself halfway across the board.

Other suggestion:

The Mangler cannon.....you don't have any abilities which trigger off criticals, so it's merely so so as an option. You tend to find yourself firing from a firespray's tail a lot anyway.

Therefore, try dropping it to an ion cannon. You still do 1 damage anyway (a 3-dice attack often doesn't do much more), but you get to throw out ion tokens - very nice in a squad with mines and bombs a-go-go.

Plus, the point you save lets you turn one set of proximity mines into connor nets. They don't benefit from Cad Bane, but are more ion/action denial, and you get to use the one advantage of Andrasta over Slave 1 with Extra Munitions; carrying two fundamentally different bomb types.

I really like that idea! Thank you very much. I would have never thought of that
