At the moment I think JJs claim is to bold to be a scum move, even from someone like him. Putting yourself on the radar with your first post would be rather reckless for a scum player. If he were a scum he could have waited a day or two, throw in his claim when it would have caused more confusion. So I accept his claim as valid for now.

On the other hand, Rocmistro's jumping on JJ's claim could be interesting and I'm glad I don't seem to be alone with my suspicions about it. Then again it may be only a rookie's over-eagerness.

Right now JJs miller claim seems pretty believable. All of these are very minor slips and could be nothing...or everything...

So, let's take a look at Visovics' vote on me. It occurred immediately after I voiced some scepticism regarding JJ's claim, and I questioned the credibility of those supporting the truthfulness of his claim, who at this point included Mad, Vis, Truth and Toad. Of the remaining comments on JJ's claim, three were noncommittal, (Broba, Norell, and Pod) and Roc's comment seemed orientated towards a bit of humor.

Regarding JJ's four supporters, Truth and Toad stated their tentative support for his claim once and moved on. Vis voiced his support twice and it was three times for Mad. I find this enthusiasm for JJ's claim interesting.

Now, in regards to the reason Vis cast a vote on me, we have not one but three stated so far. First, it was to see if I had developed the ability to lie since my first game. Then it was because he had a gut feeling. The latest is because he wanted to kick the game in gear. Well, which is it?

Something potentially foul is afoot here.

Why is it so important to Vis and Mad that JJ's claim be accepted as truth?

Was Vis's vote on me truly related to the various reasons he offers, or was it retaliation for doubting the believability of JJ's claim?

We need these questions answered.

You seem to not be taking everything in consideration as a whole. My vote on you was to start applying some pressure and see if you would crack or if someone else would end up making a slip, I chose you to cast that initial vote because I had a gut feeling. Now if I had announced those were the reasons within my post how would it be possibly useful? Scum doesn't have to worry if it's openly announced and 0 pressure is applied, it's useless.

Also, it's not important to me that JJ's claim is accepted as truth, I myself don't have much trust on it, thus why I pointed how he saying it early could be scummy, but there's not much we can do right now so I'm tolerating it as truthful for the moment being

I think I am seeing the big picture. Did you really think that after my Oscar winning noobian performance during my last and first game that I would self-destruct when pushed and throw out my claim in a glorious sequel? Not this time. And who would have cause to slip by you pushing me? Maybe your other gut feeling, Norell? Ninja is correct; there is some role fishing occurring here. So, who benefits most from that?

The discussion over the Miller could be looked at two ways...an objective conversation over the nature of the role, or the placing of a villainous plot openly before all since one of the best ways to hide something is to put it in plain sight for everyone to see. And, there is a solution to our red-herring Miller problem in the solution that JJ himself put forth...hang him so he can get to the observer doc. But no one here wants to take that route since, as Roc is learning, it has a scummy taste to it. So yes, the Miller will stay put for now.

That's an awfully intense reaction there Wig. It's a single vote that was broadcast as an attempt to apply pressure. That doesn't necessarily mean just to you, but you're being a bit defensive about it.

I will always passionately defend the integrity of my person when it is questioned. And, I see something larger at work here that merits discussion.

So how many hours do we have left?

So far we don't have much, so we gotta watch for a scum push on a town at the end.

Got a better chance of getting a scum by pushing early and letting scum get someone to 2/3 and hope the town just follow.

At this point, I think it's time to shift my first vote. Mad hasn't done anything that screams suspicious to me yet.

The way Roc moved on me was quite forceful, much more than I'd expect. Wig is right in the fact that it seems scummy.

Just finished teaching Armada to a buddy who came up for the weekend to attend a different buddy's wedding.

I still can't shake him of this X Wing love. We played a couple games of that. Holy crap the X wing meta has changed a lot in the last 6 months or so. I barely even recognize the game anymore.

Regarding "nuking the site from orbit"; this has less to do with anything other than the fact that Aliens is an eminently quote-able movie. I didn't actually mean to put any pressure on him. I was going for humor, not gameplay. I honestly wasn't even aware that the 'game' had begun yet (not in any real sense.)

My experience in life is that people that do this kind of public logic-casting are looking to subtly influence without looking like they are influencing.

2. He's got a certain amount of 'me thinks the lady doth protest too much', vis-a-vis this post:

Lol. Last game I get a vote for not talking and now here a vote for talking too much.

And I pretty much said the same thing in regards to joke votes at the beginning of my last game. Which makes me consistent in a game that prizes integrity and consistency.

I have no reason to suspect you as a member of the scum faction. In fact, you're at the bottom of my list. And, there is a distinction between something that seems scummy and something that is scummy.
