Questions about store kits (Q and SC)

By Thormind, in X-Wing

Q Kits:

- How many Q kits does a store receive per year?

- Is it a fixed amount?

- Do they receive them at a regular frequency (like once/3 months)

- Do they have to pay anything for the kits?

- Do they receive them automatically or do they have to order them?

SC kit:

- Does it have to be ordered by the stores?

- Does it cost something?

- Is there a restriction for the # of stores that can organize a SC in a given area?

Tks!

1: As many as they buy

2: when they buy them

3: $25 for Q kits, $80 for SC, ish

4: they have to order them

5: Yes

6: $80ish

7: Not that I'm aware of, SCs are to the best of my knowledge unlimited except possibly by supply of the kits (i.e. they can run out, and if they do they probably wouldn't print more) and I think limited to each store only running one per season. Regionals are assigned by the Organised Play team based I believe on the organisers applying each year, and nationals and worlds/euros/system opens etc are organised directly by Organised Play.

You seem to be assumign that FFG have a much greater role in Store Championship and below level organised play. They don't. They supply the prizes and the rules and that's it.

Tks! Doesnt have anything to do with FFG. I want to organize some events at my local store :)

If you want to use kits, your store will have to buy them, and in particular, note that misusing SC kits (i.e. not using them for SCs) can get you in trouble, and selling on any kit rather than using it as prizes can get you in trouble.

If you just want to use a Q kit, the only restriction I understand to exist is that it has to be used for prizes and the events have to be public. The format of the events can be anything you want.

If you don't want to use a kit at all then it's ell entirely up to you.

Does anyone know when the deadline for applying for the 2017/18 regionals was/is?

Yup, my FLGS rotates between standard dogfight, Hangar Bay, and Escalation on a monthly basis. Gives a nice variety. :-)
