Anyone have step by step instructions for seperating ships?

By Noosh, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Hello all. I've been lookin at all of the painting and modifications for a while now, but i was wondering if anyone has compiled a kind of compendium of how to seperate ships that can be seperated for lighting. Mosltly i was wondering where are most of the joining points internally. Are there any points of entry that are best. Are their any parts that are/were surprisingly difficult? ( ie seperatly cast bits that you didnt expect) Are there any tips, tools, chemicals that make it easier?

Some people have suggested putting it in the freezer for a couple of hours to weaken the glue by making it brittle.

You can check out either my instagram or facebook, both of them are LEDHangar for some WIP pictures of the star destroyers. In general, there's going to be a seam along the side, you just have to figure out if its the top or bottom of the side. Then I use a hobby knife to work in there and separate a bit, and just work around the ship. The hardest pegs are typically those in the center of the ship since you have no real leverage to pull them apart. If you have small 1'' clamps (useful for gluing the ship back together), you can typically get them in there and use the handles to apply force to break the peg apart. The rear corner posts of the ISD were unusually obnoxious - the hull material is very thin, the pegs are large squares, and you can only apply pressure from one side - I ended up cutting them out instead of worrying about breaking the ship.
