Are talents random

By reidchapman, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

When you gain a talent is it random, to my knowledge it never says "pick a talent" or "randomly draw a talent"

I've let players pick which group but randomly draw and so far theres only one unliked talent.

The players can choose whatever talent they want at creation and when buying new with advances. They don't even need to have a slot for it. This is what the rules say:

Players without a special dedicated talent slot may be able to begin
play with one or more talents depending on how many creation
points the player invests. The player may choose cards from any of
the talent types
, but will only be able to use the abilities on talent
cards that match the slots available on his character’s career card.

So You get to pick, in that case I'll let Ambros replace his one "unloved" talent
