Do we have any notion of whether or not FFG will be streaming or posting videos of the L5R tournaments at GenCon? With the Kiku Matsuri, the Friday/Saturday tournament, and the casual one on Sunday, it would be amazing to have some or all of that available to watch for people who won't be able to attend. Not sure what the policy is for attendees/competitors making videos of their own, but does anyone going to GenCon have plans of doing that?
Videos/Streaming at GenCon?
No idea, but there was talk of streaming the unofficial late night casual play/tourney on Friday and Saturday nights.

They said something about streaming the opening ceremonies in the last L5r live

I suppose that gives some credence to the idea that they could film some of the actual gameplay. I know Team Covenant has released videos of the finals for X-Wing, and the Star Wars and GoT LCGs in the past, so that might be a possibility too.
As far as attendees making their own video, not sure what FFG policy is, but iirc non-press badge attendees are limited to recording equipment that is handheld, and pretty sure tripods aren't allowed. So that may limit your options.

- Media recordings of specific exhibitor booths, on-sale products, demo products, and specific Gen Con events are prohibited without the consent of the associated exhibitor or event organizer/GM. Attendees are responsible for knowing and complying with any additional rules and regulations pertaining to their location of recording.
You are allowed to bring media equipment, you're just not allowed to use it unless you get permission from whoever is running what you wish to document. So, it looks like it's up to FFG. It'll be hard to get an answer from them to this question before GenCon.
Okay, double-checked the ToS and the only equipment limitation is the "handheld" size, nothing against tripods per se. They do note not to block aisles/ walkways, impede movement, or be disruptive. So if you do want to have something on a stand (and FFG allows it) you mostly just need to use common sense and not be in the way or be a nuisance.
I've been in contact with FFG for several months now and have permission to stream (I also have a press badge). I will be attempting to stream the Kiku Matsuri and the top cut on Saturday, at the very least. I possibly will be streaming some on Friday as well, but that remains to be seen.
I streamed Netrunner at GenCon last year, and the biggest hurdle while streaming at GenCon is getting access to power. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get permission from FFG to use their power, so all my power has to come from batteries. I have a solution for this issue, though it is a bit janky. At the very least, it should still work. Last year I was able to run the stream off my 4G hotspot without issue, and this year I will be able to record locally in high quality as well to post on YouTube, perhaps even with some post-production...but that may be getting ahead of myself.
Anyway, if you're interested, you can follow here to be notified when the stream is live: https://www.twitch.tv/dodgepong
