Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Board Game Customs for Descent?

By LeeroyPorkins, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Has anyone made custom Hero Sheets for the D&D Board Game Heroes? I thought it would be cool to have Drizzt as a Scout Type with his Cat Familiar as his Hero Ability, The Dragonborn Fighter could have a Heroic Feat called Fire Breath (Castle Ravenloft), Emiril (The Mage from Ravenloft) would have teleporting type abilities.

Sounds a good idea, but I'd rather go the opposite direction, I usually adapt Descent things to D&D, mainly the minis.

I was going to try my hand at making my own, but I couldn't find Blank Hero Sheets.

I do mine in excel. Of course it does not look like D&D, tough ;)

I use figures, map tiles, and objective tokens for D&D (My current group's game).

Yes we used it a couple of times in the Shadow of Nerekhall campaign. We have the full 4th edition so there is I think 69 characters and that's a great range of choice. We used Philosopher as Celia, in the Librarian quest, as she.. was the librarian and the Philosopher carries a book :D. Then we used the Spy for Bertram, and Tavern Maid/Merchant/Bard for the villagers.

It looked great on the map but sometimes you need to put the villager token under the mini base so you still need to have the tokens nearby.

Though, I haven't painted the Talisman in colour ( only metalic colour with wash, something like this ) but it worked well in a way. - it distinguished the NPC from the players' figures.

So go ahead, try it. Al least it's fun to choose the mini from what you know about your NPC in each quest :).

Edit. And yes, the last boxes of Talisman (Cataclysm/Harbinger I think Firelands too) are the same quality as the Chains that Rust/ Mists of Bilehall and the last Hero & Monster collections

Cool! Thank you very much for the Inspiration!

Anyone have blank Hero Sheet PDFs? I tried looking for them, but couldn't find them. Then I tried photoshopping one of the Sheets, but that didn't really work well

Thanks! I tried out some. Hopefully they're not over powered like my Bear was.

Porting D&D heroes into D2E sounds like a good idea. But using Ashardalon as a monster also sounds like a ton of fun. Or these elementals from the most recent expansion. Even the tiles were good in that expansion (for a WotC product). They´re way better than Gloomhaven's anyway :D

You know they´'re releasing Tomb of Annihilation soon for even more D&D joy you could throw into Descent? :)

Eagerly waiting for it at Gamer's Haven as we speak. I'm also waiting for Massive Darkness :D

Me too. Plus they do a deluxe version where everything is pre-painted. Wish they had that for Descent.

MD arrived last week, and some of the minis are insane. I haven't played the game yet, though. I don't know if I ever will given the competition!
