If you are keeping it at long range you might get more usage out of Needa and just shuffle shields with an engineering token to whichever side is taking damage.
RBD will help you more vs ramming and squads though

Well, like I said, I haven't needed it yet. In all honesty, if they've made it past two Motti VSDs that can fire their full barrage as soon as the opponent is in long range and have a constant source for re-rolls.... then I have likely already failed.
These VSDs are designed to hit just about as hard as an ISD each.... passing through them is no small feat.
All that said, I'm definitely considering RBDs.
I agree about those VSDs being nasty little b*******. I've been running them very similar to yours since wave 6 came out and absolutely loving it. Ran this list Sunday...

The guy I played against quit in round 3 after he lost his 7th A-Wing. Still haven't found a red objective I really like for it and nobody ever picks my yellow or blue.

Targeting beacons or Most wanted, though station assault isn't a bad choice those VSDs can guard stations like bosses

I've considered Targeting Beacons but without a Gozanti I'll probably never include Most Wanted. I tried Opening Salvo when I was using 3 Vics no Quasar, it worked well against a 4 ship list but took a beating from a 7 activation MSU. Lost 2 Vics and would have lost the game if I hadn't managed to kill Tycho in the last round to give me a 7 point win.

I think targeting Beacons is likely the most benign choice. Everything else runs a pretty heavy risk in one way or another.
Superior Positions over Solar Corona for the blues? I feel like a Bomber-heavy Rebel list might be willing to take that...
More to the point - with the ships you've got, it's hard to farm the victory points from rear hull zones. I guess with proper setup, it's difficult to let your enemy get there too. I just thought that Solar Corona might help preserve Brace tokens on the Vics.
More to the point, Station Assault is the red objective I'd take with a list like that. I really don't think any of the others would hit the risk-reward curve so high.

I usually would go SC over SP for those same reasons but for whatever reason when I run Sloane my Interceptors always roll hits against ships. In the 4 games I've taken her she's re-rolled 2 crits into hits and only flipped one token. If I take Motti though my Interceptors roll nothing but accuracies. It's also because the guy I play against the most loves some Intel Officers so I'm most likely not keeping that brace for long and he doesn't care about losing accuracies. Not sure why I don't care for station assault just don't enjoy it.
