Purchasing 3x Single Clans Only

Not everyone is interested in playing tournaments, so having decks slightly below tournament-legal sizes should be fine. And it should probably only be a matter of months before the card pool allows for single-core, legal decks (even if they end up a little sub-optimal, initially).

So, is this an admission that Spider is an inferior clan?

Sorry for being the clueless one, but I'm curious. Will one core be enough to pick up and try between me and a friend or will 2 be required to build two full decks?

If you want to build true decks (i.e. 40/40) You will need at least a second core. If you want to do 30/30 decks, you can do so with one box (though deck building basically consists of taking all the cards of a clan and adding the neutrals as broken down in the Learn to Play book).

You will need a second one OR a few of the other packs that will come out later.

The learn-to-play decks are specifically designed for 2 players out of 1 core, and I expect that is all you need to pick it up and try. If you have reached the stage of needing extra cards to use the full rules or deck-building, I suspect that you are beyond the try it out stage.
