I have a SC tomorrow and I can't decide on who to run with Dengar, Nym or Tel.

I know Nym is the new hotness but he can get burned down pretty quick. Tel won worlds but can he still hang in a high ps/bombs meta?

So, which of those two would you fly with Dengar?

Nym. Nym with Cruise Missiles ca do Alpha (just like Tel) and I find Bomblets and Autoblaster Turret better than what Tel brings to the table.

Whichever one you think you'll enjoy playing more, to be honest. They're both good options. Personally I'd probably go Nym because he plays differently enough from Dengar to make things interesting, and provides a different kind of threat.

Or you could bring Fenn and Inaldra. You know, while you still can...

I've actually found I like FCS and Synched Turret better than ACC and Autoblaster ?. But otherwise yeah, Genius, Bomblet, Cruise Missile Nym is super fun! Does make you at least consider Cad Bane on Dengar though.

How so? Have you actually used it? FCS ensures you have the required lock to shoot, and it doesn't spend the lock to shoot. Further- the better your opponent the worse Autoblaster is. Synched gives you a much larger bubble in which to shoot and doesn't require you to barrel roll nearly as often, which improves your options quite a bit. This turret really opens up your options.

I understand it isn't an obviously strong card and I wouldn't suggest it on really any other ship, but here it is actually quite good. Autoblaster is no doubt strong, but it limits your flight patterns and makes you far more predictable, which is not great. The more experienced your competition the less often they are going to engage your Autoblaster.

Coming from a synced turret user, that's doubtful.

So back to the op, meta-wing shows most Dengar's like torps but if Nym gets burned down quick, I feel like Dengar's going to want countermeasures to survive.

Yes. If the FAQ leak is true, you might want to just start using counter measures and scavenger crane right now. You can fit a cruise missile on Nym if he has autoblaster and AC/adv sensors, but not if he has a stupid synced turret.

And even with the Cruise Missile, because you can deploy directly in front of your enemy, after anyone.

It's expertise/K4 Dengar. And VI is stapled to Nym. You like to do everything backward, don't you?

dengar and as many sycks as you can. or a named syck and light sunny bounder

Nym is a lotta fun which I feel is necessary when playing with such an overpowered and imo fairly dull ship as dengar

I like his ability but goddamn he's too good for his cost

Cruise + plasma is nasty, bombs are more for tech
