Less a statement, more a joke. The shifty ninja eyes should have given it away.
"We have a plan..."
I've been watching through Star Trek: The Next Generation, and EVERY ambassador the ship ever carries to an important negotiation plans...to improvise when they get there. If it works for the Federation on a regular, scripted basis, I think we'll survive. ![]()

Maybe. The writers of Lost had a plan about where the story/series was going.
It was so obvious that I guessed the series' end by the second season.![]()

What constitutes a "plan"? Isn't a plan just "This is what I will do when the situation arises", and in the case of saying "I'll just improvise" you have the most complete plan possible, since you have an idea what you will do (which is Improvise) to any contingency.
That isn't a plan. That is just what you will do. Plans still have details and goals.
Plans can and should have improvisation, but improvising itself isn't a plan. And just saying you will improvise isn't a plan either.

You can both plan to improvise and improvise a plan. You can also plan to have a plan. I don't think you can improvise to improvise... that just seems dumb.

So cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Is it as cunning as a fox what used to be Professor of Cunning at Oxford University but has moved on and is now working for the U.N. at the High Commission of International Cunning Planning?

Later today we have an L5RLive on Facebook detailing even more awesome things. Whup, and the L5RHonored contest was held and judged.
I'm grateful for all the planning and effort that's going in to this monumental relaunch. I'm also grateful FFG don't read these boards.
Its too bad their plan didn't include waiting for more of the sad sacks from prior editions to find other hobbies tbqh.

So cunning you could brush your teeth with it.
I have reached semantic satiation with the word "plan."

That was the plan.
Will there be some humble pie to be had now that it looks like they do actually have a pretty cool and flavourful plan with way they've done the Scorpion previews!?

That seems a fair conjecture.

I see you're either new to L5R fandom or simply forgetful- the best that can be hoped for is abashed silence.

Indeed, it's a rare soul so polluted with dishonor as to admit being wrong.

As a wise man once put it...
1. Make the plan.
2. Execute the plan.
3. Expect the plan to go off the rails.
4. Throw away the plan.
A plan is just a series of events that don't happen.
I would like to point out the FFG is not obligated to reveal all the cards before the pre-release.
