Rules Reference Available
omg just what I've been waiting for!! Time to read up! thx thx
Anyone else notice that cover page? Is the rules reference for this game a living document online?
The Learn to Play rules are also up on the product page.
Edited by phillosFunnily enough, I don't think I really learned much from the official rules, except maybe clearing up the dynasty mulligan. Although it is now most certainly confirmed that if a conflict has it type changed mid-conflict, it still counts as the conflict type declared. Kind of a bummer, but I suppose it had to be that way.
Nice to have the actual action window framework, too, although not a whole lot of surprises.
If a character with a dash for their skill value becomes involved in a conflict of that type it is immediately sent home bowed.
A character with a dash for their skill cannot be challenged or participate in duels of that stat.
I didn't know these.
Deck Limit X - may restrict deck building to less than 3 cards, or allow more than 3 cards.
I hope there aren't many Deck Limit 1 or 2... That makes the game too swingy. I do remember the Oni Spawn which was unlimited quantity in ol5r lol. Fun times.
Edited by shosukoWell we also know what exactly Role cards are.

Really? It's been discussed quite frequently.
Dang it! Now I can't make up rules as I go along or plead ignorance when I "make a mistake." Thanks a lot FFG
Here is what I learned:
1) Outwit exists:
2) If your Ready Glory + Claimed Rings count is a tie, the Favor stays where it is. During the games I have played, we were returning it to unclaimed.
3) You can only declare one military and political attack per turn, with no additional qualifiers. This means if something changes your military conflict to political from underneath you, you do not get to declare another military conflict later. This means that
Kuroi Mori is going to become the game's most hated card pretty quickly.
4) The other neutral holding is called Favorable Ground, though there is no indication of what it does.
Keeper of Fire is really interesting role card.

Yes! That's the other thing I was doing wrong, I assumed the same.
So Outwit is the political version of Rout? I like that quite a lot.
If I pass on one of my conflicts do I have to declare which type I'm passing on? It seems like I do, but, I'm not sure.
Also where was the part about conflict tyep changing after declaration?
Edited by Ishi TonuAll the Ide can rest easy now that they are confirmed ?
And did I see a possible reference to shadow brands??

There's nothing about it, which means the base rules apply: you can declare one of each type per round. So if you declare Mil and it changes to Pol, you still have Pol left to declare, since it only matters what you declare.

Page 12, Rules Reference: When passing an opportunity to declare a conflict, a player is not required to specify which type of conflict he or she is passing.

Not that you're biased or anything ??
I have no clan loyalty, just one I like more than the rest! Thought it's looking like any issues I had with Phoenix and Unicorn are being fixed

I'm still waiting for mention of Dark Moto and the White Guard before the Bronies get my final seal of approval ??
My favorite part of LCG is I get to play all the Clans. I'll play them poorly no matter what so why focus on one?
A face down province is turned face up when an attack is declared against it
I didn't know this.
It is also confirmed you may look at your province cards at any time. We were wondering about this.

An “out-of-clan” card bears one or more clan symbols that do not match the clan symbol on its controller’s stronghold card, and does not bear a clan symbol that matches the clan symbol on its controller’s stronghold card.
They seem to be opening the possibility of cards aligned to multiple clans.
Doji Challenger cannot move a - trait character to the conflict type of their - trait.
Edited by shosukoQuoteIf a character “cannot participate” in a conflict, that character cannot be declared as an attacker or defender for, move into , or be played into that conflict.
