What happened to Tannhauser on Vassal?

By CrashMonkey, in Tannhauser

All the links for it are broken. I have the board game but relatively few opportunities to actually play it. I remember seeing the links working over the summer, but never participated, now they don't work. Did FFG have them removed for legal reasons? Anyone have a clue otherwise?

you know, i didnt know there was a vassal tannhauser, ill do some digging and see about it, maybe we should try it with a web cam each?

If you can find it, great! Looks like the whole site is down now.

The webcam thing might work too. Have to get one, but not a problem.

Looks like I was smart enough, oh so many months ago, to download the Vassal components then. found them on a folder buried on my pc. now if only I could read French.

That's the old TOY website URL, if memory serves. TOY went out of business and sold Tannhauser to FFG a while back, so it was only a matter of time before that website dropped off the net. I guess FFG would rather support the game here on fantasyflightgames.com than maintain a second site (which makes sense.) Unfortunately, that does mean that whatever TOY had on the website is lost now.

Not everything, one of the former members had saved the website with most images and documents/texts

Quite a few of the things can be found here (also has a french forum)

blacksheep.eclipsenoire.net/

You can access all of Take On You archives by visiting the new version of the Black Sheep Archives ( www.blacksheeparchives.net ).

To access the download section simply click on the left hand menu "Téléchargements" item, the "Archives T.O.Y." From there you can access all the downloadable content I was able to save from Take On You former site.

Since I haven't had the time to make an English version here's a rough translation of the categories:

  • "Arsenal de l'Union": Union new tokens and alternate packages.
  • "Arsenal du Reich": Reich new tokens and alternate packages.
  • "Arsenal du Matriarcat": Matriarchy new tokens and alternate packages.
  • "Arsenal des Mercenaires": Mercenaries new tokens.
  • "Arsenal commun": new tokens usable by any faction.
  • "Logistique": rulebooks, faqs, cheat sheets, tactical maps, ...
  • "Jeu de plateau communautaire": rules, campaign maps and other ressources releated to the organized play.
  • "Scénarios": the official Take On You scenarios for Tannhäuser organized play.

The Vassal module however is NOT in the archives section but in the "Tannhäuuser > Vassal" category.

Some files from TOY may be missing (especially wallpapers) but I have them and they will be added on a later date.

I went to the black sheep archive to download the vassal module, but the link seems broken, the page just keeps reloading.

Have an idea what's happening?

It's fixed.

The problem is that the .jar filetype wasn't recognized as an authorized download type so I just zipped it.

Thanks, Plageman for saving all that stuff and getting on the Black Sheep Archives.

I'm the author of Tannhauser Vassal module and I give you somes links of my new Tannhauser conversion project
