Need help with running a skill gauntlet scene

Hi there,

for the next game I am planning a scene, in which the PCs have to solve different task while they try to find a way through a bulk freighter (neutral faction) under attack. Which task could be pop up during the scene?

If the freighter is neutral, presumably it's not theirs! Therefore:

  • Navigation - find their way, especially if the layout of the ship is modified from the class' standard design
  • Computers/Security - get appropriate hatchways open
  • Engineering/Medial - deal with a (small!) hull breach and casualties in a compartment that they have to pass through (or that happens whilst they're in the compartment
  • Social - deal with panicked, unarmed crew. And/or persuade panicky, armed crew that they're not the enemy, the people shooting at them are.
  • Combat - a firefight that they need to pass through to get to their objective.

Task - Low Gravity - Due to Hull breach or Damage to Gravity Controller doodad

  • Coordination - to navigate around floating boxes
  • Resilience - Vacuum
  • Mechanics/Computers - To repair/reprogram Gravity Controller
  • Athletics - Physically seal a breach

Task - Toxin/Gas Leak - Due to Damage. Checks are basically the same as above

  • Perception - If smokey or obscures vision
  • Resilience - Toxic or super cold
  • Mechanics/Computers - To repair/reprogram
  • Athletics - Physically seal

Task - Security Codes - Gain access to secure areas

  • Social skills - Convince Crew to grant access
  • Skulduggery - Pickpocket security keycard
  • Perception - Find a security keycard on a corpse
  • Athletics - Use a corpse's hand/eye to access a bio-metric security (not really sure what skill for this one)

Task - Navigate Cargo Hold - Freighters have cargo right?

  • Survival - Navigate the rows and rows of boxes without getting lost
  • Perception - Find the Mcguffin
  • Vigilance /Athletics - avoid Falling boxes!
  • Athletics - Lift said boxes off of crushed ally

Other - non Task specific

  • Discipline/Cool - to cross a hallway amidst a firefight
  • Coordination - maintain balance from jostled ship
  • Leadership - rally neutral faction
  • Computers - Launch escape pods
