Vehicle/Item/Creature generation guidelines

By DarthDude, in Genesys

Is there any info about Vehicle/Item/Creature generation guidelines included in the corerulebook? If Genesys is to be a geneneric system, such tools would be invaluable.

"Officially" the only thing we have is the two news articles on the right side of this page: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/genesys/

I don't beleive they mention anything about Vehicle/Item/Creature generation. Now, there are more than a few of us that would like that, I've specifically seen the desire for a better vehicle system than the SWRPG, a more codified NPC creation guidelines, and item creation on par/better than the Tech item creation rules from SWRPG.

Hopefully we get something official, update wise, with Gencon. With any luck we'll get some blogging/phone photos of the Runebound game being played in Genesys there.

But as of right now we know that there are play-testers who would love to give us some info, and one at least, even has a blog post sitting in the chamber and ready to pull the trigger, as soon as the hush order is dropped. But until then they are being tight lipped (which good on them, I'd rather that they were, and thus able to add quality to the products they are working with FFG on).

From the dice and the main article, we can tell that it will be VERY similar to the SWRPG that they have out. Unlike the Warhammer FRP 3e and Star Wars which uses a very similar system (progenitor system, even, I've heard), but different dice. So, we are thinking it'll be a brushed up SWRPG like system. But the actual facts we have in hand, officially, really all come from those two articles I've mentioned above.

We are all quite hungry for more info, I am sure.

Then in three weeks we will be the wiser^^

Yeah, they fed us the obvious parts we already know thoroughly from SWRPG, but the parts which would make it a generic system are still shrouded. I just hope this will be a complete experience in, using this book alone to create own settings without having to rely on supplements. There are a couple of shows and Mass Effectwhich I would love to RP with a generic system that really can handle every setting like a wishing well :D

Well, I mean, we can look at what they've produced for reference. And I'd say you absolutely can play Star Wars out of any of the three CRB's... and you can even play out of all three... and the supplements certainly add to the whole, but I don't think that any are necessary, I'm a completionist. and it's nice to have all the books.

Even looking at generic books like Hero, Savage Worlds, and even to my surprise GURPS 4e are pretty capable of just using the core rules to play most anything out of the box. And the supplemental material is all icing.

So, I think there is a good chance that we'll have a fairly complete system, and of course they will also want to leave some of their material for spat books... because, they do, after all, have to have a bottom line to look at.

Same with me, I will probably buy any supplement if the core rulebook convinces me.

I am wondering how well the books will handle cybernetics and concepts akin to astral space and VR/matrix. I want to convert SR to a more generic system that is streamlined.
