Hi all,

another question came up during our last game. In short, does the bonus of the ritual candles apply to the token not chosen by the grotesque statue?

Ritual candle reads: After a skill, cultist, tablet, or elder thing symbol is revealed during a test you are performing: You get +1 skill value for this test.

Grotesque statue reads: When you would reveal a chaos token, spend 1 charge: Reveal 2 chaos tokens instead of 1. Choose 1 of those tokens to resolve, and ignore the other.

The grotesque statue says that you "reveal" 2 tokens! Thus, per word "reveal", I would have thought they would trigger ritual candles. On the one hand the statue says to "Ignore the token" but that only happens after the reveal. So, I believe the bonus should apply even for the token that gets ignored but I just wanted to double check...

Short answer is it sadly doesn't work because the developers said so The reasons others explained to me in the below thread.

Yeah grim rule solves a lot of rules questions in my house too
