So that "build-a-droid" droid factory thing at Disney World is actually pretty awesome, as I discovered last week. Granted, you're dealing with limited stock options, grabby kids everywhere, and bored family members. But if you take the time? You can have a ton of fun creating your own astro droids. (The only temptation you have to avoid is creating "official" astromechs like R2-Q2 and R5-K6.)
Anyway, these were the only souvenirs I picked up from the four-day sojourn, and I had definite plans: Make companions for my Micronauts.
I'd like to imagine these guys - an Acroyear and a Space Glider - are Hired Guns or Bounty Hunters aboard a large freighter that's basically an indoor black light palace and hangar bay for their two Y-Wings with Captain Harlock-inspired skull and crossbones designs. Favorite pastimes include listening to "space rock" and "space funk" while expanding one's horizons with certain smuggled goods and watching a series of discovered vids from a galaxy far, far away of two law enforcement officers whose conveyance is a red and white wheeled vehicle amusingly called "a striped tomato" (whatever that is).
Their shiny heavy battle armor, crazy-@$$ jet packs, cybernetics, and vibro weapons have become the inspiration for many a hovervan mural.
