Lots of cards say add one to a single die! The question is would that be your only resolution or could you say resolve 3 single die of the same symbol and increase one with a card?

We have always played that a card states single so it's all that you can resolve that step.

If the card states only one die, like Salvo or C3PO ability, you can only resolve one die.
