I find that runewars is an excellent game. I was just wondering what your fastest game has been - last night we had a game that was over by winter of year two, which we think was pretty fast. Any similar experiences?

It was a 4 player game. Through a collection of events, one player was given the runes he needed to win rather early:

Started with 2 runes

Fulfilled secret objective (tactical dominance) in turn 1 autumn - he started with 3 tactics cards, recieved 2 from strategize supremacy and took 1 in autumn resolution

His hero moved to complete his quest in summer turn 1 - it was close enough for him to get there in one move (2 hexes away). There was a dragon throne in the same location.

Won influence bid for a dragon rune in winter turn 1 (this was due to him being given 4 influence in a favourable alliance earlier that turn)

Summer turn 2 hero moved back to cash in reward, shard of timmoran.

Autumn turn 2 mobilised units onto dragon throne.

At this stage he owned 6 areas with 6 runes.

A lot of factors conspired for him, and when we knew he was on 4 runes the other players made a beeline for him as fast as possible, but we couldn't make it in time even though we devoted all of our resources to getting to him.

The tactical dominance completed on turn one was a bit much - i was sat there needing 3 developments, which meant there was no way i could complete my objective until at least year 3.

Still fun though.
