Epic Objectives!

By Muelmuel, in Star Wars: Armada

Ok so no real epic format out yet, sorry. I was just looking through the AOO in the cc campaign and thought it looked alot like an epic-level hyperspace objective(1200-1500 points a side!). So I figured, won't epic format require their own sets of objectives? Can't have a ssd when you don't have scenarios to play it in.

What ideas do y'all have to make/remake objectives?

Some things to take note:

Points scale would maybe be approx.? three times the original format(some abilities may be over-amplified while some under)

Epic-class ships will probably be introduced

Point costs

Scoring and victory conditions

Types of obstacles and objectives

Teamplay or 1v1(I personally like teamplay because there is just so much to track)

State play area(Likely on a 3x9, but can vary depending on what you want to achieve)

I hate team play because I know what I want to do, and have no clue what my team mate may do...lol.

Ive played a 1500 point game on my own, had no issues, but then I'm used to running large armies with tons of parts from playing the old Warhammer.

As for epic play, I don't see it happening.

My issue with Armada epic play is the same as XWMG or STAW games at 300+ points. Essentially, the unique features of individual titles, crew, squadrons, etc. are now lost in the noise of mass fire tactics.

I would be be okay with a 600-800 point Armada Epic play, but I would virtually never engage (once/year tops) in a 1500 point epic play.

I've played a 1000 point per side and 1500 point per side game in the last month and had some of the most fun I've ever had playing Armada.

I would chomp at the bit for Armada Epic with an SSD.

800-1500 is where the fun is at.

600 is my go to "quick" home game at the moment. Anything else just feels like a skirmish.

Everytime i see SSD I think "solid state drive"
