Overload pulse and BT...

By Darth Lupine, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Let's say I have a VSD with OP, and hit a ship with a crit....triggering OP. All the targets Defense tokens are exhausted.

He activates, and due to my brilliant flying ends up in close range of BTVenger. BTVenger the BTs the target.....so, then all the targets defense tokens are discarded.

Is this correct? Fairly sure it is, but would like confirmation.

*burns three old rule books and several erratas, sprinkled with salty gamer tears* @Drasnighta , I summon thee!!!!!!

Yes.

Its just there's a lot of moving parts to get perfectly right for that to happen.

And the BTVenger can't do it on its own.

That's what I tought, thanks Dras!

I take it BTVenger is Avenger titled ISD with Boarding Troopers?

Indeed, can also be called **** in 11 hull or 8 infernal dice that you can do absolutely nothing against.

It is also completely and utterly overkill.

When the said circumstance happens, you're already providing the circumstances for the *absolutely best thing ever* - which is a Close Range shot with Avenger with a Target that has Exhausted Defense Tokens.

You have to be adamant that between the Avenger Shot, and the end of the Turn... It won't die... To make those Boarding Troopers worth it.

Otherwise they're basically wasted... I mean. Only an ISD is going to tank another ISD at close Range with no defense tokens it can use...

Indeed. The situation I posited is overkill indeed, and not good use of points, but the question came up in conversation and I tought I'd get an answer.

if we're talking about waky possible outcomes.........

VSDI with QLB, CF Dial, Opening Salvo (1st Shot) & D-Caps thats 10 dice at long range

I think you mean VSD-II.
