So I recently bought some alt-art cards for Armada off of Ebay.

Specifically the MC-80 Assault Cruiser. The card material is smooth unlike the standard card. I don't have any of these tournament prize cards so I don't know if they're printed differently or if these are really well made copies.

They're printed in the US at FFG rather than in China like everything else. That results in a slightly different feel and finish.

Even if they were a forgery (they're not), so long as all the correct information is displayed it doesn't really matter anyways. Homemade alt arts are definitely a thing for FFG games, particularly their card games and locally, at least, for X-Wing.

Yep, they're all smooth when they're made in the US. Only China has the linen effect.

And I've got some Custom Alt-Art Squadrons to come too, with any luck... Lucky I have Paul La Rue not too far away.

I should commission some custom alt art cards....

There hasn't been a Vader alternate art card yet, has there?

I'm sort of into choking, so I'd appreciate a new one.

With the funkadelic background and pose, he is truly Disco Vader, Dark Lord of the Dance Floor.

I really wish I used VSDs, because that spotgloss card is absurdly cool.

Per the others, yes the FFG cards are smooth (and rather crap quality, to be honest). That Vader alt art is sweet though (I <3 mine) . Don't fly Vader without it.

I love what little in the way of alt art I do have so far (TIE/LN, TIE/I, X-Wing, ISD-II, various upgrade cards, GR-75s) and run them compared to the basic cards. Never really paid much heed to the card difference as I sleeve EVERYTHING.
