Good Galaxy Map for GM

By MiracleDev, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Im starting out as a game master and I am searching for a galaxy map that I can print out so that both I and my players know where we are in this massive universe. Thanks in advance :)

just purchase the Force Awakens beginner box set. It has one in it. same map as in the core books.

Wookieepedia has a plethora of galaxy maps , including canon and legends variants.

Someone has photoshopped the official FFG SW map... now on version 8 IIRC.... can't find a link for the life of me :(

FOUND IT - just open in a new tab and save galaxy_map-v1-8.jpg

There is also a map online that you can click on a system, sector or region and it gives you the link to the corresponding Wookieepedia entry. http://www.swgalaxymap.com/

Thank you. All of your answers were very useful.

So...Hoth is smack dab right on the Corellian Trade Spine? Something tells me the Alliance doesn't really understand what "out of the way" means. :)

If you look at a more detail map of that sector, Bespin and Hoth are actually on a little 'side spur'; not directly on the trade spine. That said, it's still a little close to a major trade route to be calling it 'out of the way'.

I don't remember them ever stating that Hoth was "out of the way". Merely a comment that the Hoth System was "devoid of human forms". I think that being on a minor spur, in the Outer Rim, and uninhabited led the Rebellion to assume that they wouldn't be found. Hoth didn't have major resources, or any other reason someone would stop and look around.

Its the equivalent of a clear field a couple miles off a highway. Its known. Its explored. No one is supposed to be there. Maybe someone drives by and looks, but if they don't see your tent, they don't realize you are there.

In any case, the map was made long after the movie and most of which was likely without GL's input. So I wouldn't sweat so much about Hoth's location as long as it is near Cloud City.

In the Lando system?

I said that as a joke when I saw where Hoth was on the map. I guess I figured that a secret rebel base wouldn't be sitting so close to a major trade route.
