Glimmer of Hope questions

By Letanir, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Good day, we're gonna end Labyrinth campaign this friday and we're gonna play Glimmer of Hope final!

Unfortunately there are some questions about rules for this quest.

  1. It is said that monsters can't move on tiles with objective token on them, how does it work with lieutenants?
  2. Monsters can't move away from tile with objective token. How does it work with big monsters, which could expand on the border of a tile?
  3. Could OL use Splig's Revenge if he was defeated? Could OL reinforce Splig if he was summoned by Splig's Revenge and killed?

Please note I'm answering without the quest guide, so there may be text in the quest that contradicts me.

1) LTs are monsters, they just aren't "masters" or "minions". Agents are "masters".

2) Expanding is not moving. In lieu of another ruling, I would assume they could expand off a tile.

3) I'm not sure how you're suggesting reinforcing Splig. The only way to put him on the map after the quest starts is with Splig's Revenge. He would not reinforce after that.

If I recall, the monsters cannot move OFF the tile with the objective token on it. This applies to monsters linked to each of the token.

This does not affect Lieutenants, which are able to turn off the objective tokens (iirc).

I played this scenario a few months ago and absolutely smashed the heroes with the zombies and the LT that spawns there (Merrik probably) in the very first room (2 hero game), mostly thanks to grab/immobilize. So good luck!

I would say:

1. Lieutenants are monsters so they are limited as well. However all seals are accessable from adjacent tile so they still can break the seals easily.

2. Due to text I would say that literally large monsters can do so but thematically it is a severe abuse of the idea put into the rules.

3. Literally look like you cannot since whenever Splig is killed his card is put to the box. But thematically I would say that Splig's revvenge can be used only before Splig reinforcement and in case of Splig's revenge his card should not go to the box.
