They're not very well known, which is surprising considering their level of musicianship. They have a sound comparable to a mix of Yes and Rush. I'd suggest starting with the album "V", as it is their most popular one. Just a warning: The final song runs for 27 minutes.

Always meant to check them out, so much music, so little time.

We get some Jethro Tull tomorrow?

Why do they limit the numbers of likes on this forum? 50 is not enough per day.

How could I, that's just awful (although I left out Zep on purpose, for the next guy who wants to harangue)
This song always reminds me of a fantasy flight.
As a former member of a Daedelus Flight...
Icarus - Borne on Wings of steel.

Well done!
I recognized the lyrics, but couldn't place the song without the use of googlefu.
My music focus is somewhat eclectic in what fields I listen to, but generally narrow in each field.... This just happened to be a singular trigger.
Now, I'm going to go back to Therion at the moment.

Thank you...
and we have a Winner! Dras grabs another victory as we head into the final stretch.
I just want to say that I've had a lot of fun with this, and I appreciate everyone playing along. I hope you all had fun too.
I will see if I can come up with something fun for tomorrow and the final countdown... do dee do do, do do do do, dee de do, do do do do do do
After Kansas, I think Europe would bring things down.
Although at my kiddo's insistance, I switched out Therion for Kamelot today...

I would agree. Europe seems to work better as a gag.
This has been great! I will be updating my gaming soundtracks after this. There are a few gems I was not at all aware of. Great idea. Thanks for running with it!
We should do this every year leading up to GenCon, and Gama!
I will mark it on my calender, though if there is anyone else who wants to run it next time I have no problem giving up the drivers seat. I like the gems others have introduced to me as well.

Your son is around 4 if I remember correctly. Well done on the cultural education front Dras!
This reminded me of my own autistic son finding AC/DC soothing at 2 years. He would be out before the first song was over.
I would love it if FFG would make a "Crimson Skies" game.
That world is awesome.

I remember there being one once. It was a hero-clix style game if I remember correctly.

Similar boat. He liked the rolling rock-lines you'd get from AC/DC when he was younger to help him sleep... Then there was a period of time he really liked Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, and when his mother was home, Rammstein... But he's softened into some more Melodic and Operatic metal the past year, going into my other Staples of Therion, Kamelot and even a local home band, Vanishing Point.

Yes. Being that it was owned/licenses by FASA in originality, it was taken over to WizKids alongside BattleTech. (Who then produced the MechWarrior Click-Tech Game, which was a terrible flop.)
Which means, if anyone, it belongs to TOPPS now (as BattleTech Does)
Edited by DrasnightaFASA did some amazing stuff back in the day. I still think John Ford's take on Klingons was the best ever done.
And, of course, we got: BattleTech, Shadowrun, and Earthdawn.
Was sad to see them go.
