How does this look? I've always had good success with Omega Squadron Pilots in Epic and Juke/Comm Relay Omega Specialists are legit in Epic too, especially firing out front and back. I figure depending on my strategy before each game I can dock a few FO's to save them for a later Wave of attacks, or just set them all up. Doesn't matter too much. Hux is nice once the Gozanti starts getting in the fight since the stress element doesn't matter.

How did those SFs get an evade?

Like above poster mentioned. Hyperwave Comm Scanner. We used them to great effect with Team Epic at Worlds. They essentially are 7 hit point ships that ALWAYS get double attacks that are guaranteed 2 hits on each attack, which is huge in epic. Not only that, but they Juke both defenders, multiplying the effect. I would say that these guys are way overpriced for a standard 100 point dogfight, but in epic they are at the crucial PS5, shooting first, don't need actions, and have the chunk of health required to stay around. Then they are backed up by a Crack Swarm and a Gozanti.

Looks good.

The Omega Swarm is a nice one - Weapons Guidance is probably not as good as Howlrunner, but there's no 'key lychpin' for a high PS ace to knock out.

Since you've taken Vector and Docking Clamps, you're obviously planning to launch something off the carrier - can I ask what?

Dormitz/Omega Specialists should mean those TIE/sf are in someone's face very quickly, and once you're in a furball, the double arcs can really pull weight. The carrier is likely to be a bit of a disappointment; yes you've got a dual laser turret and thug droids, but if you're using Hux every turn, you're not getting any actions to modify the carrier's own shots.

You could trade one of the Omega Squadron for Epsilon Ace/Targeting Synchroniser - that way you've got a 'floating' target lock that Dormitz or the carrier's turret can grab as required.

Docking clamps were free and Vector was cheap and allows for an extra energy. Figured I can change strategies on the fly with little downside if I wanted too.

Targetting Synchronizer would be good for the Gozanti to get the rerolls. I like that a lot and try to fit that in.

If you're prepared to barrel roll and then use Hux to hand out focus, you can deploy all 4 TIE/fo out of one arc of the carrier.

  • TIE#1 does a speed 1 turn, barrel rolls back along the side of the carrier
  • TIE#2 does a speed 3 turn, barrel rolls back along the carrier
  • TIE#3 does a speed 2 turn, barrel rolls forwards along the line of movement of the carrier
  • TIE#4 does a speed 2 turn, focuses
  • Carrier uses its action to trigger General Hux, focusing the three unfocused TIE/fo

Gives you four fighters in a nice "firing line", deployed after all other small ships have moved.
