FFG has the license. I think it's about time to take Armada to Battlestar Galactica. I would like your thoughts on this.
Battlestar Galactica
Modern series of Galactica with the CGI or the 70's episodes with the lip gloss?
Edited by Mad CatWith maybe two ships and two squadrons per faction? Part of what makes Armada (and X-Wing) work is the huge range of ships they have to choose from.
This isn't Star Wars...
While I agree this should be in the office topic area, I also agree that I'd be down for a BSG conversion for Armada. I'd probably have bit the bullet on one of Mel's Galacticas, except it's a little too rich for my blood.
But that'd be great to sub out an ISD or MC80 with it.
This whole game would be predicated on the tactical nuclear warhead upgrade or surviving until round 6 when you jump away.

You forgot calling each other a fracking toaster throughout the game
Getting the Battlestar Galactica in a starter set and having the Pegasus in an expansion as a much larger ship would be cool. This system just screams to be turned into Battlestar.
I all ready mixed the two

While I am excited to see what comes of that game, it's not a tabletop game. There is something special about pushing minis around physically.

Daaaaamn!
Pretty sure FFG doesn't have the license, anymore.
Take a look at their product pages . See if you can find anything BSG.
Obviously, they did have a license - but it seems they let it lapse.
There's no telling if they still have the license or not.

You can reach the page via Search, and their Community Forums are in the Archive. That means the game has been discontinued.
It tells us nothing about the status of the license. That has to be looked at elsewhere... Some companies and IP holders allow to hold onto licenses while new things are in development.
Considering the news that came out when the GW License was cancelled, I think we'd have seen the same amount of "News" come out if the BSG license was cancelled or moved - and that didn't happen.
The game just quietly slipped into "Out of Print" and "Archived".

I watched some videos on YouTube last night, and thought about posting it here, but forgot about it.
I'm glad someone did; this game looks awesome.
I wish I had friends who liked BSG. Because a "wink murder"-esque, political based RPG based within The Fleet would be cool.
As for using the Armada system? No. I'd want something that was more focussed on squadron play and their use within the series.
Also, ITT: ElSee admits he wants friends.
There a computer game version with the battlestar theme coming out. Go check out battlestar dreadlock

This is really Armada the PC game, the movement and planing seems extremely similar, the list building is similar. This game is a must buy for me. and bonus, it comes with a campaign mode!!!!
I just hope it gets a Star Wars mod one day.
Everything gets a Star Wars mod.
If you do the first colonial war there were a lot of different ships to choose from that would make the game fun.
spacedock has dome a proving ground video for the Manticore fast attack corvette as a promo for Deadlock.
Maybe a prequel version but I don't know if the BSG theme would be good as a table top skirmish game since only one human battlestar made it.. A LCG like Arkham would work fine.
Edited by Marinealverso if you take the moore verse. the game Battlestar Galactica Deadlock will have at least 8 ships and 4 squadrons while the Cylons will have at least 6 ships and 3 squadrons. this game is set 4 years into the war.
I would think this would be a good start for a game.
