Fun? Uncompetitive? Easy: Rebel Captive Buzzaw Lambda with Autothruster/Stealth Kanos and Lorrir escorts.
...and, should be fun but never ends up that way: Redline!

Stygium loaded Sigma Squadron Pilot here. The lowest of the low PS generic phantoms. I had a lot of success back in the uber-soontier days running one of these in a list as a blocker with enhanced scopes and Intel in the scrum, or poking from the fringes with captive and FCS. Surprisingly resistant to a single enemy shot, but crumbles to focus fire. Actually went 3-3 at a local regional last season running 2 of these intel Sigmas (fcs) and 2 Scarif Defenders! A squirrely ship for a more civilized age, before the red dice creep and when blocking really mattered...
I love the Kihraxz since their release, i win a couple of tournaments with
Talonbane Cobra (EU)
love sycks, especially since the Croc pilots
StarViper, all day, every day. G4H can't get here soon enough. I also want to love the Quadjumper, but it's only brought me heartbreak. The same is true to a lesser extent of the G1-A and the E-Wing; they're both decent, but just a little...not quite where they could/should be.

Only awful pilot I've ever won a store championship with
(because conners ruined the Palp ace, brobot and rebel Regen wave 7 meta)
loved him to pieces; doesn't do or take enough damage nowadays

The Raider. Hands down my ultimate favorite.
The YT-2400 without the Outrider title, specifically Eaden Vrill. I keep unsuccessfully trying to make him work.
The U-Wing. I love the "Aim to miss" theory, but can quite make it to work. (Fletteche Torpedos + Accuracy Correctors + Operations Specialist + Gunner + Munitions Fail Safe)
Starviper, I've loved that ship from the first moment I put it on the table

That is the smartest thing I have ever seen in my life....mind. Blown.

Thanks, it is really the only ship you can do it on, but the U-Wing is kinda a slug and a bit too expensive for normal game play.
But it is neat, delivering stress, cancelling the hit (and not adding the 2 hits from the AC), keeping the torpedo, getting a free focus, firing again.
*Edit: You can have this set up on the Ghost as well, but it is a lot pricier.
Starviper for the dream of viability. It was always so expensive to kit out.
I hate how the firespray flies, but it was the first ship I bought due to SW nerd love. I really wish they'd just completely remake the ship. First medium base ship, c'mon ffg.
Jax. There's way too much R1 autodamage in the game, making him a huge liability...but I just love the little red guy.
I'm very partial to the "throw random semi-synergistic + cloaking device for fun" onto the Mist hunter. Just love lobbing extra dice as Zuckuss, stressing as 4-lom and cloaking jank on the ship. The model, albeit unpopular, also Looks pretty awesome.
Ive tried to make the Hwk work but it just doesn't survive under my care lol.
Edited by Yoda ManU-Wing all the way. I own 3 and barely get to fly one. Also, the G1-A is great!

It seems about half the people posting say an Imperial ship. I'm sure wave 12 or 13 will make us OP.
I dont find the G1a/Mist Hunter a terrible ship at all, Im at ~80% wins with 4-Lom with Zuckus crew and the title. Granted with only ten or so games but it is underrated.
HWK is actually good too, for what its pilots do. Torkil Mux vs Phantoms and Aces such as Turr Phennir is hilarious.
Starviper is my favorite ship, and probably terrible for the points. But together with the Kihraxz it is about to get off this list.
So I will say Firespray. It just looks so cool I have to fly it. It is not useless either, just not good for the points and not as good as other options (Lancer does the same plus more for equal points). Scum Kath is my favorite to fly. At least now you can equip it with the Andrasta title and Bomblet generator.

Back in the day when you could spend multiple evade tokens on one shot I used to love flying Laetin Ashera (the scyck pilot no-one uses). He was a proper little troll ship if he was my last ship. Sometimes I ended up with 3 or 4 evade tokens on him!
The Firespray even though I personally consider it to be solid, and A-Wings even with their somewhat wimpy firepower. I'd say StarViper, but now it's absolutely worth it. :3
Lt Lorrir... Those new vipers are going to be a thing of beauty...
A, B, X, and Y......The originals!!

The G1-A is indeed horribly underrated. It's one of my favorites too, especially Zuckuss pilot.
While not a terrible ship, I love the Tie Defender with the /D title. I used it extensively before x7 was nerfed. I don't think it gets the credit it deserves, nor does the tractor beam. Tractoring Biggs away from his squad is pretty hilarious.

Wow! This is a really cool idea!
