Expansions with Base Game

By reverett, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I have all but one expansion set. I was wondering what the rules/thoughts are of using new heroes and gear/items from the expansions with each other or the base. I was thinking of mixing all the shop items I have from all the expansions together to make a bigger selection even though we are not playing that campaign, as an example using Trollfens, Mist, Nerekhall items while Lair of the Wyrm.

What are the rules and does anyone think it would be overpowering?

Thanks!!

I know FFG gets a lot of flak for unclear rules. Some of that is definitely deserved. But really, the first step to understanding rules is reading the rulebook. Any of the expansions you purchased will have a paragraph like this right around the first page:

Sorry if that sounds impolite. Welcome to Descent! Enjoy your stay!

EDIT: My answer was incomplete. There's also this:

Well i suppose that is one answer.....a whole 2 sentences saying before starting choose which expansions to include.

I guess I will go with....use any want and all you want and don't worry about it being OP!!!

Thanks for posting that b/c I did miss that in the 4 sets of rules I read. I read the part about adding the cards from the expansion you are playing to the base set and thought it was only for that expansion. Not using the expansions for the base. Or one expansion with another.

Thanks!!

The short version is:

-Everyone agrees which expansions get included

-Expansions get included all-or-nothing (if the heroes have access to Nerekhall shop items and Nerekhall classes, the OL has access to Nerekhall OL cards and monsters)
