If I don't get an FFG MC75 Profundity this Christmas I'll.....

...buy 2 copies of whatever they do release, cry a little and wait for them to release it next year.

Haha but seriously, I am rewatching Rogue One on netfix and I'm getting so excited for the battle of Scariff coming up in about 5 min. I want the Profundity to reenact this battle. I hope we get an announcement in August for wave 7.

If I'm not wrong, they will anounce something at GenCon or announce before and exhibit at gencon, so hopefully in stores for good ol' Christmas

Ha i just watched RO last night on Netflix as well!

One thing I did notice was the size difference between the ISD and MC75. Here is an edit of the movie someone made of the battle:

The ISD looks like 3x the mass of the MC75. Hopefully FFG will make it a large base.

Also, I never realized the amount of detail put into the ISD models.

I'd much rather a medium base, not only rebels need more of them, I think it would fit in better that way, because as you said, ISD looks like 3x the mass of the MC75, would you really put them in the same category with that kind of difference?

Because the MC75 is ~1200m and so is the Liberty. That would bother me more if the MC75 was a medium than the difference between the MC75 and ISD.

Liberties are a bit small for large base actually

Mass plays a factor in FFGs base size also. So it would make sense to make it medium if it's width is smaller then an MC80 home one style.

I figure we'll eventually get an MC75 because it's showed up in canon, but just what does it do that we don't already have and how much is it really needed? The MC75s are Mon Cal designs, so I'd expect it to have durable shields and hull points but it's firepower is on par with an Assault Cruiser Mk II. Stuck between the MC80s and Assault Cruiser MK IIs, I don't see this ship having that great of an appeal.

My fear is that FFG is going to give it some funky new power creep rule mechanic or card so it'll sell and the release of the MC75 will mark the point where Armada "jumps the shark".

FFG could make it a ship with only blue dice. That'd add a whole new aspect to rebel game-play.

I've seen somewhere that official stats on the MC75 have it being armed with laser cannons and proton torpedo launchers.

I would like it to be a large base blue/black dice ship with an ordnance slot and blue/black flak fire. And a weapons team for ordnance experts or flight controllers

I'm hoping we don't get the MC75 for this reason. I don't think we need another large MC cruiser. The current ones give us enough, and simply adding the ship because it is new and shiny doesn't sound great.

I'd much rather we got some stuff to fill in gaps; maybe MC75 would work as a mid-sized ship, something different enough to the Assault Frigate. But I'm hoping for a Rebel ship with an Experimental Retrofit upgrade slot (and maybe decent anti-squadron and black dice), and an Imperial Fleet Command ship - perhaps a Venator.

So far FFG seem to pick ships that fill in gaps, rather than just because they're new. Yes the last couple of waves have had "new" ships, but the squadrons and earlier ships seem chosen far more based on what fits (and what FFG likes the look of) than anything else. Hence obscure things like the AFMkII and Gladiator, or the Scurrg.

I'm putting my money on the next wave being the Profundity and Chimaera expansion packs. It just makes more sense than any other ships.

FFG has basically said if you see it on screen then it's a question of when not it. So we will get it. I just hope this year.

One thing Im noticing from design and notes of the MC75 what it could suggest for its ingame counterpart is possibly a forward facing brawling carrier. This ship would want to fly aggressivly into the fight vs. AFM2 and MC80 who want to skirt the edge of battle.

I hope the MC75 will have a 5 squadron base value, with a weapons team and offensive retrofit, as well as an ordnance slot, considering that it has 12 proton torpedo tubes. Maybe 2 black dice, 2 red dice, 1 blue die for its best arc.

MC75 needs to deploy a ship similar to rapid launch bays but for a small ship with corvette in its name.

Or cost 44(!) points more and have a CR-90 replace the MC75 when its destroyed (think nahsta pup from the hounds tooth mechanic from X-wing)

5 base would be INSANE, and immediately make it a no-brainer choice for a rebel carrier.

What if it doesn't have a weapons team slot?

<looks at ISD II... large base, 8 dice across all 3 colours.... VSD 6 dice across 2 colours>

depends on the cost, yaw chart, speed and other upgrades before its a no-brainer.... I mean 120 points speed 2 with 1 yaw in each box & no engine tech slot & see how many people take it then!

I was referring to the Squadron value - but yes, it would depend on the cost. Squadron values do tend to be aggressively costed, after all

I would! A 120 point base cost, + 11 points for FC and EHB, makes it 131 points. Add in 134 points of squads, 20 points for Dodonna, and I have 285 points.

400-285 = 115 points. 72 for an mc30, leaves me 43. I'd take a couple of GR-75s (36 points) to fill up some space, and have a 7 point bid.

4 activations, 7 squad alpha-strike, a decent threat with the '30. . . even if the carrier was like the quasar it could be worth it. . .

Maybe we could see the first large base ship fitting into a low point cost? something between 70 and 90? Being large bease does not mean that it has to be super powerfull. It's just the base.

and how many hull, sheild's, engineering points etc do you think you'rd get for those points? :P
