Having a blast: Which traits apply?

By Cifer, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi everyone!

Say, when a weapon's blast trait is triggered: Do any other traits of the weapons work? Take for example everyone's favorite negotiation enhancement tool, the thermal detonator. Does everyone in the Blast radius "only" get 15 points of damage or is that 15 points of damage with Breach 1 and Vicious 4?

Blast doesn't say to ignore all other effects, so I don't

Some qualities are active, such as Disorient, these need to be triggered individually for each target hit by the attack. Other qualities are Passive of which Breach and Vicious are included.

So after spending Advantage/Triumph to trigger Blast all targets Soak will be affected by the Breach of the weapon.

Vicious is a little different, it requires a Critical hit to be caused. This will usually come about from the targets exceeding their wound threshold. But where you are spending Advantage/Triumph to trigger a Crit you need to trigger those Crits separately for each target, but Vicious would apply to all of them.

Also active effects may or may not require a successful check , for example you canntrigger blast without a successful check as it can be triggered on a miss. Knockdown requires a successful hit (but not necessarily damage)

By the way, I do presume to have an equivalent amount of Threat/Despair trigger Blast as the GM after "if I don't trigger Blast, only the target is going to take damage, right?", flipping Destiny when they try using TDs as precision weapons; quite a disincentive, for low XPs at least.

I've even been pondering making the activation of Blast a requirement for the first available Advantages (not Triumphs, of course), if sufficient, now that the grenadier is at YYYYG.
