Mustache Ghost by Pelzak

By Pelzak, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello All,

My first list so far (and first post) so please comment what you think.

Mustache Ghost by Pelzak 100 pts

Biggs Darklighter (X-Wing) 26 pts

R4-D6, Integrated Astromech

Kanan Jarrus (VCX-100) 49 pts

Ghost, Accuracy Corrector, Autoblaster Turret, "Zeb" Orrelios, Intelligence Agent, Engine Upgrade

Sabine Wren (Attack Shuttle) 25 pts

Intelligence Agent, Push the Limit, Phantom

Plan is to cover VCX-100 with Biggs to allow Ghost to get to range 1 of enemy ship. Once in a range 1 it deals almost unstoppable 4 damage (first shot from Autoblaster Turret replaced by Accuracy Corrector for 2 damage and then second shoot at the end of Combat Phase exactly the same from Phantom ability).

Intelligence Agent allows to know where opponent will move to position properly with boost to keep range 1.

Assumption is that Ghost covered by Biggs can clear almost whole table (at least from turret-like ships) and once goes down Sabine will clear remaining ones. Also arc dodging and staying on target will be done by Sabine ability to boost/barrel roll, Push the limit for barrel roll/boost and then green manoeuvre to remove stress.

This is the Ghost + Biggs list that I have ran and had a lot of success with:

Kanan and Biggs (99)

Biggs Darklighter (29) - X-Wing
R2-D2 (4), Integrated Astromech (0)

Kanan Jarrus (52) - VCX-100
Fire Control System (2), Twin Laser Turret (6), Recon Specialist (3), Rey (2), Ghost (0), Tactical Jammer (1)

"Zeb" Orrelios (18) - Attack Shuttle
Phantom (0)

Idea is to fly Biggs behind (opposite of your opponent) Kanan and use Tact Jammer to your advantage. Rec Spec + Rey let's you stack 3 focus on Kanan for multiple attacks. I prefer not to waste points in the attack shuttle. If I have to use that, I've probably already lost. It's only there for the additional TLT shots.

Hi gigglyomnioronicon,

Thanks for sharing your list :)

Those two list are quite different as yours is about staying in range 2-3 and mine is about staying in range 1 but I will give yours a try.

To increase Biggs life expectancy I'm considering dropping Intelligence Agent from Sabina and replacing "Zeb" Orrelios with Jan Ors to convert Biggs focuses to evades. But it removes "after bump shoot" ("Zeb" Orrelios is not working with Phantom title second shoot unfortunately).

Best regards,

Pelzak

Chopper is a better pilot for Zen bumping IMO. But he doesn't necessarily help Biggs out.

Hi,

I did test against Brobots and Dengar & Tel, both failed terribly.

Autoblaster turret proved to be difficult to be used so going for TLT as suggested:

Biggs Darklighter (26)
X-Wing (25), R4-D6 (1), Integrated Astromech (0)

Kanan Jarrus (53)
VCX-100 (38), Ghost (0), Fire-Control System (2), Twin Laser Turret (6), Jan Ors (2), Intelligence Agent (1), Engine Upgrade (4)

“Zeb” Orrelios (21)
Attack Shuttle (18), Dorsal Turret (3), "Chopper" (0), Phantom (0)

Plan:

Biggs to stay alive by taking evade via Jan Ors, and to be protected by Kanan Jarrus.

Ghost to shoot everything 4 times a round from TLT + FCS or primary is close enough/arc is right.

Best regards,

Pelzak

I've been running a similar list for a little while, I find it fun. I try hard to get front/rear arc primary weapon shots as much as possible, especially range 1 (love 5 dice :D) but as you no doubt noticed getting range 1 with a PS 5 ship against anything with repositioning is pretty **** tricksy. Like gigglyomnioronicon I usually run a bare shuttle, but I'm not afraid to pop it out into someones face should the need arise :D

Ay mates!

As the idea of OP evolved away from using the ABT to fall into the TLT kingdom, let me share the build I've been using for quite some time lately.

Kanan Jarrus (38)
Fire-Control System (2)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Finn (5)
Rey (2)
Tactical Jammer (1)
Ghost (0)

"Zeb" Orrelios (18)
"Chopper" (0)
Phantom (0)

Biggs Darklighter (25)
M9-G8 (3)
Integrated Astromech (0)

This, by far, might be the most offensive variation of the Ghost + Biggs build.

Addition of Finn ramps up the primary shots to a monstrosity (6 dice at R1!) while Biggs provides a trustworthy way to reroll the added blank. The droid effect also comes in handy in every other TLT shot, for the TL supplies are still limited.

After Biggs' death Finn might not be as consistent addition, but one should always have a TL to spare for the primary shots.

The Phantom rarely sees the table, and once it does, the use case makes him an 17 PTS overpriced Rigged Cargo. I have to admit though, the face of an opponent getting to shot down VCX with their barely alive ship only to realise that there's an encore to deal with is priceless.

And now, returning to the initial idea, ABT Ghost is worth a shot but only in a form of a Heragator.

Hera Syndulla (40)
Accuracy Corrector (3)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Navigator (3)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Ghost (0)

Total: 53

As fun as it might be to bump into people with Chopper, the true joy comes from dialing 2 straight every turn and adjusting it on the runtime to be the biggest fly staying on people's ***.

I agree with the @gigglyomnioronicon list. It maximizes Biggs' effect while maintaining respectable offense for Kanan, and ABT is way too hard for a low PS like Kanan to use well

Thx for all feedback. Heragator looks solid. Need to give it a try.
