Exactly. Only, take it a step further and allow any of their munition slots to be filled by any munition. Let me pack 5 bombs and EM if I want to do so.

I guess it'll be a bit like the Tie/FO. Maybe switch a point or two of hull with shields and give it a tech slot for a few more points. Pattern Analyzer and them 5k into a bomb drop seems nice.

I think it's going to be a TIE Bomber repaint with a point of Shields and a Tech slot that has to be an entirely new ship type for some inexplicable reason.
Edited by DarthEnderXI'm reminded of the sesame street song every time I see a 2 headed ship.

And green two hards, and segnors loops. For three points more.
Oh yeah, and it needs to have pilots that are fifty times as dope as their imperial counterparts.

Money. Very explicable.
This has been explained by FFG in their recent interview. They would rather sell new cards then fix old cards via just changing them.
Ships are really just cards. Think about it. How many times have you removed a large base ship during a bumper cars game and just left it off for the rest of the game?
They aren't necessary, they just look cool.
With this:
EDIT: increased the cost by 1.

At this point, I'd really like a first order retrofit, tie only title, adds a shield and a tech slot. 3 points. Literally the price difference between an academy and an epsilon.

The reason I'm into this game is the (painted) cool minis. Sure, the game
is
was very well made, and emulates the old PC sims I
played
still play, but what keeps me buying new ships - even though I couldn't play a single match this year - is not the cards that come with them, but the miniatures.
PS: I own several copies of all small base OT ships and almost no Scum ship.
Translation: Bomber with 1 shield and tech slot.
Which will either: completely replace the original bomber or only show its face via 1 pilot ala OmegaLeader because its JUST too expensive compared to the original to bother.
Cant even think of a reason to want a tech on that thing atm. Technically pattern analyzer, but it generally doesnt use its red moves except the 5k which tends to put it out of range anyway (most of the time). Thats 2pts more on a bomber that i prefer to keep as cheap as possible i probably wouldnt use much.

It could come with new tech upgrades....

Yes but techs so far have been hit or miss. PA is the only universal one, the rest are so situational its sad.

Ture, I mean, I'm not going to imply if X-Wing: TMG was just some small, large and huge size cardboard chits with the pictures of ships on them that we moved around a 3x3 area populated by flat cardboard pictures of asteroids and debri that this game would be anywhere as popular or successful than it is today. I mean, I've custom painted almost all my ships; I pour time and love into them.
It's the miniatures that draw people to try the gameplay.
However, what I was addressing was @DarthEnderX 's "inexplicable" comment (which I am fairly sure was missing the /s) and the reason why FFG does not correct underperforming ships the easy way like they did with the Heavy Scyk errata. Now, this specific topic is on gameplay, not how cool and collectable miniatures are. Which, given the way the game plays, the miniatures are completely superfluous to gameplay other than the specific rule in the tournament book that you have to have all the correct components.
That doesn't mean that 3d printing asteroids, making ridiculous mods like @Barry Harker does, and @Joe Boss Red Seven 's land terrain efforts aren't completely awesome ! They are.
Just not necessary to play the game.

That is wicked man! I honestly hope to see this fixing one day the issues that are shadowing TIE Bombers and TIE Punishers.. Would also make very neat miniature
I've been saying for a long time that any ship that can equip multiple torpedo upgrades and has the tech slot will be devastating. Consider:
Proton Torpedo:
Change and eyeball to a crit
Guidance Chimp:
Change a result to either a hit or crit depending on how many reds your primary has.
Weapons Guidance:
Spend a focus token to flip a miss to a hit.
A concussion missile would be even more interesting, as it would let you flip 3 misses into hits.
I think The new First Order Bomber pilots should be Alpha Squad, they strike first.
If this happens, expect a new mag pulse secondary weapon.

Pattern Analyzer so you can focus before you take the 5k to fire your fully modded 5 dice Cruise missiles? Target lock turn 1 thanks to Long Range Scanners and Extra Munitions so you have 4 total uses of Cruise missiles. And you also have Deadeye perhaps?
We're probably talking 2-3 extra points over a regular bomber for the extra FO shield refit. So 23ish points for the cheapest EPT slot. So 33ish points for the total package?

But you already spent the focus token for Deadeye.

PA is the big one, but Primed Thrusters and Comm Relay both see plenty of use. Sensor Cluster and Weapons Guidance are the only ones that get neglected, but they still have their place (Crack/WG FO for 20 points, SC alternative to PA on Expertise Quickdraw, etc.)
So it seems this pic if the first order bomber, is from an advertisement from the mobile game Star Wars commander, when it got some units from The Force Awakens. Point here, there currently is NO first order bomber incoming. We have to be excited for the TIE Silencer.
Maybe it'll come with Mag Pulse Missiles!?
Here is my idea on them.....
Mag Pulse Missiles
(Limited)
ATTACK (TARGET LOCK): Discard this card to perform this attack.
If this attack hits, deal 1 weapons disabled token to the defender. Then cancel all dice results.
------------------
Rules for Mag Pulse Missile
The defender assigned a weapons disabled token from a mag pulse missile may not attack during the next round of play. At the end of the round remove all weapons disabled tokens.
Also thinking a relatively high point cost as it is a strong effect.
