Conflicting Dynasties Phoenix vs Crab

By Badmojojojo, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

7:00 - Mori means forest or woods, so "kuroi mori" means "(a) black forest." If it were an actual place name in Japanese, it would probably be "Kuromori" "(The) Black Forest."

Interestingly, the Japanese governmental agency in charge of trees and forest and woods and what-not makes a distinction with "mori" in that specifically it is a forest with multiple kinds of trees. If the forest only has one (or mainly one) kind of tree, that area is designated a "hayashi." Everyday folk may not make this distinction, however.

Swamp would be "numa." (And on a Phoenix-related note, the "sawa" of "Isawa" could possibly also mean "swamp" or "marsh.")

Another great video. I always find Kiramode's commentary on the board state and decision making to be enlightening. Keep up the good work!

It feels like the Crab deck was on the whole better tuned and the Phoenix deck was more just "every card they have," which admittedly at this point is probably the best we can hope for with Phoenix (as people haven't had as much time to tinker with their card pool.)

Good video, definitely appreciated the quick cuts to keep the playtime down. More please!

Eager Scouts win games.

Play an Eager Scout and put 1 fate on him. Then see how much your opponent panics.

It's hilarious.

I get your post and I too find it hilarious. :D

A Scout with 1 Fate on it should be treated like any other character; and one certainly needs to factor in the possibility that it might be pumped up during an Attack against a province, which might or might break the province. Having more experience with one's deck would mitigate eventualities of coming "eye to eye" with a fully Fated Scout on the board... :P

Just a friendly bit of feedback for the content creators: Try not to let slip the results of a 45 minute game 3.5 minutes into it =]

I wondered if anyone would catch this or even care. Good to know people are actually listening to us banter.

I caught this too, and while I usually would rather not know the results until the end it did provide a different, and interesting, perspective to watch the game and think "What decisions ultimately lead to the Crab victory / Phoenix defeat?"
