Tie Aggressor with TLT...the verdict?

Played against not quad TLT, but triple TLT with Jonus (Plasma Torp, LRS). That seemed pretty good, Jonus rerolls were big and the one torp shot was a good head start in the damage race.

TLTs are OP and the TIE Aggressor must be nerfed. Remove the <turret> slot and give it a <torpedo> slot. :P

also remove the solar panels the TIE cockpit and give it folding wings and a shuttle cockpit so it looks something like this

I LOVE flying 4 of them. IMO they are so much better than 4 Ywings: more survivable, better dial and that barrel roll makes a huge difference. My last game i had to completely brake my formation and fly into an asteroid field to outmaneuver my opponent. I was able to get back in an almost perfect formation and had 3 ships in shooting range wile he only had 1. I would not have been able to do that with a Ywing. Naked TLT shots are still quite powerful when you use your action to BR.

I wish we had a good option for a 50 pts ship to fly with 2 TLT. A bit like Paul Heaver 2TLT+Shadowcaster built. The decimator requires a bit to much pts for that :(

This is one of those impossible to answer quandaries. The TLT clearly has certain issues, but the imperials didn't have access. So that is all ok with FFG, as everyone knows it's the Imps that can't have nice things.

But now the Imps get the troublesome turret. So clearly it needs nerfing.

But rebels get it and they can't be nerfed.

Poor FFG...hung by their own petard.

It is good even just 1 x Aggressor + TLT + LWF.

It IS probably better in a more joust-type list. Not a whole lot of good imp options at the moment, but I bet something will come up.

Blairbunke flew an Aggressor, 4 Bomber list at an SC that is quite strong and beefy, perfect spot for an Aggressor to skirt and deal consistent damage.

I agree that 50 point options are limited but Oicunn with gunner, rebel captive, and the 0 point ept of you choice is pretty solid!

I've been testing that Oicunn with to LWF TLT sienar specialists and it is pretty fun!

She is good, just as a cheap PS9 missile carrier. Thats what I have been using her for and she has earned her points in the 4 games I have played with her so far.

eh, you don't really need solid dice

you just need to fly well and not get struck across the face by immortal unmodded fenn raus

TLTs on Aggressors are what TLT's are on any ship. Solidly, firmly, definitely, mediocre.

A good Aggressor build for a one-of is Double Edge (Deadeye, Sync Turret, Unguided Rockets, Lightweight Frame). You can skip the UR if you want to save a couple points, but it helps get that damage out to R3 and doesn't have a R1 blind spot for only 1 point more than a similar TLT build. It does consistent and higher damage than the TLT, is relatively inexpensive compared to it's durability, and doesn't leave the rest of your list eating all the damage.

It just won another small SC by a friend of mine in the bay area. Seems like it is shaping up to be a decent list. Currently we are discussing if dropping pattern analyzer for primed thrusters to clear up a point for a bid would improve against others 9s. I think it would be.

4x Siener Test Pilots took 2nd at a 40 person store champ. lots of lower agility stuff being popular probably contributed. Oh and they are pretty decent

I was running two Siennar Agressors with autoblasters, LWF and Unguided rockets, and well that was a nice build.

havent tried it yet but i think 3 aggressor with 1 Gunboat could be nice. Was thinking something like this:

The boat add firepower to the initial exchange. I might change the harpoon for a homing. TLTs have problems when facing ships with high agi+evade. The boat could help clean some ace at the beginning of the game.

The tractor beam is to maintain small ships outside of the range 1 bubble as much as possible. It also adds a nice debuff to help the TLTs get through.

All ships remains at ps2 which is a big plus for formation flying. Another option would be to switch the beam for a flechette canon. I would only do that if i see a lot of ships using PTL. Not the case at the moment.
