Star Wars: My Kind of Scum [PbP] Long Arm of the Hutt

I’m here!

Sixty Six’s audio and fine motion sensors detect the thrum of hyperspace engines ignighting and he knows the jump has been made. Looking around the run down vessel he says to no one in particular “ My memory processors seem to be lacking vital data on the maintenance and repair of this vessel... this is unacceptable

He keeps walking and examining until inevitably bumping into Caizu and some of the other crew “The previous maintenance manager of this vessel seems to have had no formal training in ship repairs, by my calculations we have a 97.644% chance of further mechanical failures within the next standard week”

He then stands there, tall and intimidating yet almost as helpless as a child, staring at all the patched wiring running across the ceiling of this section of the ship.

66 isn’t that creative, without some general direction from the rest of the crew he will default to ship maintenance, but if others ask for help he will oblige even if there’s remarks about maintenance being important

Sorry, but I had written this game off a long time ago. I'd rather not spend energy and time on it again.

@Kymrel - I'm sorry to hear that though I completely understand. I went dormant for 7 months without a peep. Life was getting the best of me and I've finally got my sea legs back, but I get that you don't want to get invested again. You'll always have a seat if you change your mind, and hopefully you'll see that we get back into the swing of things and you want to come back and take over Dro-Kar again. No hard feelings either way!

Lang brought the bottle of Trandoshan whiskey back to his quarters to drink. It tasted horrible, but the alcohol kicked like an enraged bantha. He took a few sips, and felt like he was going to be sick. Trax must have been a masochist, or he just had bad taste. He couldn't drink this swill enough to be plastered. Just as well, failing to help the people here would have made him feel worse later. It won't help change anything in his past. But he could do right by the people he met. He put the stopper back in the bottle, and grabbed a few porga chips from his pack to chase away the horrible taste of Trax's booze. He then headed out to see what the rest of the crew was doing. He remembered something about jumping into hyperspace, so he headed toward the cockpit to ask.

He spoke to whoever was in there, (Caizu and the Dug, I assume). " Sorry, I was feelin' a bit under the weather. But, I'm mostly better now. Where are we headed? Anything new happen in the last hour that I missed, besides making a jump to hyperspace?"

Trok was on his back and lodged crawl space behind the primarily piloting station when Lang arrived in the cockpit. Only the Dug’s arms and hands were visible, with the remainder of his torso engulfed in the mechanical interworkings of the ship. “ Welcome back to the land of the living, Captain, ” Trok said. His tone revealed that his mood had improved in the last few hours since they entered hyperspace. “ Can you pass me that extra-long hydrospanner over there? ” Trok pointed at one of the many tools laid out on the cockpit’s floor. “ This old rust bucket hasn’t been well maintained, but we should be able to make it down on Ryloth without a major emergency. Six-Tee-Six isn’t so optimistic.

Dro-Kar was escorting B’ura B’an to the crew quarters when he ran into HM-6T6 idling in the corridor. “ Droid, if you’re going to stay on this crew, you need to make yourself useful, ” the Nikto said in his normal monotone. “ Go see to assessing the damage to main engineering and see if you can make any repairs. Even with our new friend here footing the repair bill, I want us off that rock as soon as possible.

@Richardbuxton - go ahead and make a mechanics check for repairs if you are so inclined while you have some downtime. Add a setback die due to the difficulties of some of the repairs while flying in hyperspace.

A few hours later, there was a flash of white light and the tone of the ships engines dropped several octaves as the Queen of Scepters emerged from hyperspace. Below was the dusty, baked surface of Ryloth. As Trok worked out the logistics for the descent to the Nabat spaceport, a slim silhouette of a starfighter bursted from hyperspace barely a kilometer from the current position.

From Caizu’s position on the sensor array, she can easily identify this ship. The starfighter, a G1-M4-C Dunelizard, was regularly docked at Mos Shuuta and belonged to a Kubaz who often ran errands for Teemo the Hutt.

The craft banked around and began to slow, cruising toward the Queen of Scepters on an attack vector.

Combat time, folks! Streamlining things by rolling initiative -

Thwheek - Initiative (Cool) : 2eA 3 successes, 1 advantage
a-s-a.png a-s-s.png

Lang Initiative (Cool) : 2eA+1eP 3 successes, 3 advantage
a-s-a.png a-s-s.png p-a-a.png

Caizu Initiative (Cool) : 1eA+2eP 2 successes, 4 advantage
a-a-a.png p-s-a.png p-s-a.png

HM-6T6 Initiative (Vigilence) : 1eP 0 successes

I'll assume Dro-Kar and Trok go last. So we have:

PC (Lang)

NPC

PC (Caizu)

PC (HM-6T6)

PC (Dro-Kar)

PC (Trok)

"What the kriff? Who's firing at us now?" he shifted his gaze over to the sensor station, but could not see the console to tell if the ship was coming from the planet or elsewhere. If it was from the planet he could talk them down, they have a citizen of Ryloth onboard and can use that angle. But if the attacker followed them in hyperspace, they'll probably have to duke it out.

OOC: Not taking an initiative slot or action, just doing some role-play here since in-character Lang has no idea who is attacking them.

“Assessing the damage Dro-Kar? I have so far calculated this ship is carrying 896 metric units of additional mass just in adhesive tape alone, and not its not thehigh quality nanofiber reinforced kind. There are 43 service panels missing inside, and 1247 screws to hold them on... but there are some empty steel crates in the hold, there’s an 88% chance of them being the right size to cut and make our own covers”

average mechanics check I think?

Mechanic repairs : 2eP+1eB+1eS+2eD 1 success, 1 Triumph
p-s-a.png p-tr.png b-s.png s--.png d-f-f.png d-th.png

So that is some basic repairs done, repairing 2 HT. With the Triumph I’m thinking the ship is more prepared when we drop out of Hyperspace, 66 wouldn’t be thinking about combat, but being up to speed or having the shields angled, or even already being in one of the gunner seats going through some systems checks and planing on calibrating the targeting array?

Ill go for the turret option if that’s ok

Caizu sucks a breath in through her teeth, then lets it out again. "Great. One of Teemo's little friends. A Dunelizard. Belongs to a Kubaz who runs a lot of errands." She gives the ship a sharp little grin. "Pulls a little up and left. Slow on the spins. Has a captain who just can't shut up once he's got a drink or two in him."

Caizu shakes her head. "Good to see you again too, you little dust-worm. And nice knowing you." She raises a finger to point—somewhat unnecessarily—at the Dunelizard. "And, yes, he still comes around like that, just like he's always rambling about. Opening to take a shot in five, four..."

Fire discipline—leadership : 3eA+3eD 3 successes, 4 threat

a-s.png a-s-a.png a-s.png d-th-th.png d-th.png d-th-th.png

Well, that's a boost to two shots this turn. And also several threats. I blame my players—they've obviously infected me.

Marshall Shinqo heard that this was Teemo involved and negotiation was improbable at best. "Call on Ryloth for support since we are escorting one of their citizens, I'm going to get on one of our big guns."

He spun on hjs boot and rushed down the corridor to get to the nearest turret.

OOC: Can he get there and attack this turn? I am willing to use 2 strain for an extra maneuver.
