Also if these changes were to go into effect, it may be time to sell unless there is some guarantee that 2.0 will include the old models but I am skeptical that would be a practical business model.

If the cardboard is no longer relevant, then FFG OP should allow squad list printouts and custom art pilot/upgrade cards in place of "official cards".

@MajorJuggler

Also if Biggs doesn't get a nerf and this is the official new FAQ then enjoy your new X-wing. This is the nerf the entire X-wing community deserved and Biggs is now the president building a reinforced wall.

Vote Biggs 2020!

Say Biggs is the hardest to design around, buff anyway.

Nerf everything else around him, balance folks, balance.

I don't actually think Miranda's too much of a problem, as long as you nerf TLTs. Without a TLT she's actually quite an interesting, and flexible ship. With it she's just another lame fat turret, that doesn't suffer from the half MoV rule.

You could argue her pilot ability is best in game. Would be strong with regen or extra damage.

I'd argue Miranda's ability should be "primary weapon only". Insufficient sacrifice using it with a TLT.

To be fair, it's a pretty good restriction on any weapon other than TLT.

Perhaps, if one wanted to make it an actual sacrifice, the trick would be to make it a penalty to all attacks in the round?

Currently I'd say Dengar is the clear number 1 for pilot abilities. Miranda is close at number 2, but as soon as you remove the TLT from the upgrade pool, she falls way down in that list. The ability to regenerate and still do consistent damage is the problem with Miranda + TLT. As soon as you force her to choose between damage or regen she becomes a much weaker pilot. Not a bad pilot by any means, but weaker than her current levels.

Try running Miranda without a TLT (either ABT or none at all), and you'll see what I mean.

I finished 8th in Store Champs last weekend. My A-wings didn't let me down, it was my own stupid mistake that probably cost me a place in top4. At a critical point in my third game (against the guy who finished 2nd) I mixed up two of my dials that had same move but different directions. Wookiees died in the alpha strike and I was pleased because that is why they are there. The screwup happened the next turn when Greens should have started a knife fight and the mistake turned one block, three snaps and a possible total of 15 attack dice into one bumb, one two dice shot and one Green turning away from the battle.

Snap/Juke A-wings rock and the dream is still alive!

My A-wing snap-juke lists have been getting crushed by AC/Autoblasters and bombs (esp. bomblet generator). What do you guys suggest?

I've had a lot of training against bombs and Autoblasters. Use different speeds and angles when engaging. One blocks/snaps risking the Autoblaster shot, second takes R3 Juke shot and third k-turns or disengages. Next turn third becomes second, second becomes first and first becomes third. Your crew carrier should also be able to contribute some damage or blocking assistance. By the third turn Nym or Miranda should be dead.

Also works against TLTs but then the risktaker is the one shooting from R3.

Try running Dengar on a ship that doesn't have a white slooping big base to cover the board in arc!

Best ability in the game might be Palob's. That's a two token swing in efficiency, which is huge, and it's not really a coincidence that he's been the only HWK really seeing a lot of play - his ability makes up for the weak chassis.

Omega leader has a formidable power to contend with, too.

We should be very glad he's not flying a defender... Or an Aggressor.

Or anything with a systems slot.

this is stellar advice. Use the superior dial to not group your A's in a cluster. Also Pray.

Autothrusters killed Ion Cannon Turret not TLT if Y Wings could take Crack Shot then you would see more Ion. TLT just put the final nail in for a lot of players

The timing chart killed the revived Blaster Turret on scum Y Wings

If TLT were to get a nerf then Autothrusters needs one to

One of the things I have been eyeballing, but haven't had time to test out since I have not had budget for more ships recently, is Lt. Kestal with an Ion Cannon Turret. It looks really good, since the Lt. kills Autothrusters, as well as most other defense mods. Kinda pricy in the low 30's kitted out (Lt., LWF, ICT is 29 + EPT, I'm thinking Expertise to keep Focus tokens for the ability so 33pts), but looks like very dependable control.

Edit: Maybe Crackshot for a clutch shot at a more budget friendly 30pts

So TLT is so good that it seems wrong to run any other turret.

@sozin After having Cryodex crash on me after the first round while I was helping run our regionals in New Zealand I switched over to tabletop.to and haven't looked back (it reminded me of the horror of Gencon two years ago). It is web based, but I just tethered my laptop to my phone and it worked flawlessly.

Also it would be great to add it to the tech timeline. My first encounter with it was Oz Nationals in 2015, but it was still private then. I don't recall the actual date it went public, but the Facebook page might help.

You could pretty easily run a tournament from your phone the next time Cyrodex crashes ;)

Thanks! Yeah, I remember talking to the dev about that when he was working on it. Good as a backup option :-)

Thweek Miranda with Pulse Ray Shield- Spend shield for extra attack every round you arnt attacked.

Rebels can't do much with minefield mapper, this is the best I can do!

Blue Squadron Pathfinder (23)

Cluster Mines (4)
Pivot Wing (0)

Captain Nym (Rebel) (30)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Extra Munitions (2)
Cruise Missiles (3)
Cluster Mines (4)
Ion Bombs (2)
Minefield Mapper (0)
"Genius" (0)
Guidance Chips (0)
Havoc (0)

Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Bomb Loadout (0)
Extra Munitions (2)
Thermal Detonators (3)

Total: 100

View in Yet Another Squad Builder

The U-wing and Nym can build a couple pickets and try to force enemies into a cruise missile zone.

The U-wing can stop, flop, chop, and drop a bomb on somebody's head. So that's fun. Then Nym and the goldie have autoblasters and control bombs to wreak havoc in a furball.

Dengar would work fine on anything with high PS, good dial and/or repositioning.

No lie, we know this because Quickdraw has a very similar ability on a small base and is amazing.
