We've had the Imperial Purge, this would be the Scum Raid, we just need a Rebel Massacre to bring balance.

Something for Jankyard Biggs, Dash/Miranda, and possibly Rebel Regen if it comes back too hard.

Just remeber this game will never be truly balanced. There will always be something that is more effective.

For what it's worth, it's been verified on reddit...

The jump change does make some sense, but I despise it for being excessively complicated.

Not being someone who plays OP stuff....what's the Advanced SLAM nerf about? I don't get it.

You can no longer equipo advanced slam on a k-wing to drop an action bomb once you slammed.

"I've decided that community deserves to know" - wow, somebody's really trying boost his ego. Doesn't mean it's a fake but it certainly doesn't make it look legit.

I got a taste of that, against my own Dengar so I guess its not something to cry a river about seeing how Dengar himself is pretty **** fine, but Miranda slammed near me, dropped a cluster, my move hit 2 of them - sabine removes a shield, roll hit crit, lose 2 shields, roll crit crit (why do my dice hate me), lose last shield, Crit: Blind Pilot

That couldnt have gone more wrong for me except if i had hit the 3rd cluster token I guess....

Needless to say with an opening move like that, I couldn't recover and lost the game.

With advanced SLAM, you can only take actions on your action bar (focus or TL, for the K-Wing). That means using card based actions (including action bombs) aren't options after SLAMing.

Cluster Mines covert crit results to regular damage. You got robbed by a player who didn't know they don't deal crits.

That's not even the problem. The problem is when a PS2 warden does a 3 move up to you, a 3 slam past you, and then drops all 3 clusters directly on top of your large base that hasnt had any chance to evade. Plus sabine.

Owwww....thanks for explaining it a way a child can understand. That means I get it! Wow....so K-wings can't drop the bombs! That's....huge. So, they can Focus or TL now?

How so? It's rather thematic when you think about it since fluff wise mindlink was only between 2 people. The mechanics can be debated but I'd say it's a very elegant and... bitrary change

Making the vaksai title not affect EVERY upgrade equiped would make more sense for the "free mindlink" problem seems better there, and mindlink was not what I consider the problem child in parattani style lists(that being the overpowered nature of a nearly upgradeless Assaj).

A better(imo) solution to mindlink dominance would be giving easily doled out stress to rebels and imperials. Shutting down options for a ship like Fenn, he quickly loses much of his potency. Double stressing manaroo(or other token mule) then shuts down mindlik/manaroo's benefit on fenn for more than one turn.

One can pay an extra point for Expirimental Interface still...

For those who haven't seen this yet...

Is this from a reliable source or can it be fake? If it's reliable, wow they did EXACTLY everything they needed to do at the same time EXCEPT the Biggs change. Guess what will dominate the meta now? A hint? Its a Paul Heaver build... At least it's going to give imperials some more room to get decent rankings.

You already pay a hefty tax for Advanced Slam- NOT BEING ABLE TO SHOOT!

I feel like there is such an art to being able to judge distances, slaming, and dropping a bomb in a place where you take the least damage in return.

I guess my Miranda will just have to take missiles and Guidance Chips now...

Biggs based formations can still be outflown, particularly by ion control lists. We might see a return of the ion turret with biggs being the main threat to beat.

I think it would be if they opened up potential changes to everyone publicly.

think of all the terrible feedback they'd have to wade brought to get to good feedback?

Things like 'but muh Biggs!' And 'where's muh x-wing buff?!' Instead of actually well-thought out , playtested game design ideas.

The amount of people who refuse to believe this is true solely because there's no mention of the biggs nerf they know has to be in there is a good example.

Pretty much. While SLAMing out of danger and grabbing a defensive focus token (or a TL for later) still sounds worthwhile, this should bring the K-Wing's bombing magic in line with the capabilities of the other factions's bombers.

That's partly why I suspect he's not mentioned. With this potentially freeing up some old arc dodging options, the problem of Biggs and the Junkyard might sort itself out. And if not, there is always next time.

Yeah thats true. The other changes are going to have a big impact on the meta. Might be safer to bring stuff that are less/not played (or riskier to bring) at the moment

The disabled weapons is a tax for being able to perform a second maneuver. Being able to take an action on top of that is what you pay the 2 points for.

If anything, bomb dropping is more an art than ever. Advanced slam bombs are absurdly easy to land; having to drop bombs where you expect the opponent will fly as opposed to where they currently are takes much more skill. And besides, the pilot abilities on Deathfire, Sol Sixxa, and Emon are much more relevant now that they aren't completely outclassed by advanced slam.

Could this all be a ploy by someone that wants to win a SC so bad that they drop this tidbit in the hopes that people will change their lists based upon this info for the upcoming SC's that are left? Possibly even in the hopes that this will have an impact on the North American and US championships.

I hate that they "fixed" JM5K and Mindlink at the same time. There is no evidence that Mindlink is broken outside of JM5K lists. It's good. It's strong. It might be broken. But it also might not be.

I also hate the AdvSLAM "fix" ... talk about a massive bait-and-switch. The correct fix was "The AdvSLAM must be the exact same maneuver."

And I never thought I'd say this, but ... that might actually be too much to the JM5K! (Maybe.) It's using concepts that are good, but ending up bad because they simply refuse to errata the cost.

Here's the real question: are they going to restore Deadeye and Manaroo? (Of course not ... )

Makes me think back to the original K-Wing release article. Back when slamming and bombing was a thing for a couple days.

It would be nice if the expensive bomb-based pilot ability specialists were actually the best bombers.
